I’ve just noticed all listings to thewatchcollector have disappeared. As many of us know, this was the source of some very interesting and sometimes quite valuable pieces.
Anyone know if it’s temporary, permanent or I’ve just been blocked for watching too many items.

Ramon has gone quiet in the past, I'm sure it's due to the Lockdowns from covid-19 and normal service will resume in the not too distant future.

I use a great source in the Philippines for genuine vintage parts. Nice guy and he offers me discounts. His listings are up but indicates seller is away until 4-17-20.
Maybe that’s Ramons case? I don’t purchase from him. Can’t someone send him a message?

What do you guys think about posting your two favorite Raymon watches. 1. Heres my Alba Chronograph. -----Needed---- hands put back on. dirt and dust cleaned out. new battery case refinished. 2. Heres my Quartz Pulsar Diver. -----Needed---- new movement cleaned battery case refinished.

Yes I have gotten quite a few things from TheWatchCollector on ebay. Still wondering why we call him "Ramon" not on his return address labels nor the name he uses if you ebay message him after purchasing.
"Ramon" and his "treasure chest" seems to be immune from criticism. Why I don't know. He sells shit. He describes working watches as broken so you can't return them and then sells broken watches that he says he doesn't know if they run or not when he knows they don't. I bought a FAKE Seiko he advertised as "Seiko (?)" which afterwards made me realize I was schnookered by not understanding Ramon dialect shysterese.
How come nobody else but me wants to know what the real deal is with him. He has 30,000 ebay feedbacks that must require over 100,000 ebay sales at 30% feedback left percentage. That means he certianly needs an army of buyers and workers filling orders.
But everything he sells is shit. Half shit or all shit it is some shade of shit nonetheless.
So under what name does he sell his non-shit? Somewhere there's a seller selling good stuff and distancing himself from his alter-ego TheWatchCollector.
I've had it with this guy. You can have him.

You really have a thing for Ramon don't you. Why does it bother you so much that one guy is supporting our hobby with used parts? Nobody buys watches from him thinking they are factory fresh. I have never seen him being deliberately dishonest in his listings.
Not everybody here can afford to buy NOS parts or brand new OEM ones.
For the record, more than 70% of my collection came from Ramon and more than three quarters of that arrived running.
Do you have the same disdain for auto wreckers when you need a used part?

I've bought plenty from Ramon, and the only time I opened the bavk and found a rusty lump, he apologized and refunded me, no questions. A solid bloke.

Well he ripped me off twice: ebay listing title "Seiko 7S26-0020..." and then embedded in the listing calling this sad Fake-O a "Seiko (?) 7S26-0020" like I'm supposed to speak shyster-ese.
I bought 2 of his shitty bracelet lots and asked for combined shipping. He sang some song about how much it costs, etc s0 no-go. Then they show up inside the same envelope with a stamp value under a single shipping charge. Again, just be honest and say no I prefer the extra profit.
Pete a few years ago it was a treasure chest. Now it's all pure junk.
So WHERE IS HE SELLING ALL HIS GOOD STUFF? Tell me no one else asks this question ? He enjoys freedom of criticism so I will be the lone wolf to call him out.

Pete a few years ago it was a treasure chest. Now it's all pure junk. Yeah, I mostly stopped buying anything from him a while back. I got into this at the tail end of the good stuff and since then it’s been rusty junk, so I only buy anything from him if I’m very specifically looking for some part knowing the wheels will likely have wrecked pinions.

"Well he ripped me off twice:" - fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice...
ebay listing title "Seiko 7S26-0020..." and then embedded in the listing calling this sad Fake-O a "Seiko (?) 7S26-0020" like I'm supposed to speak shyster-ese. - if you didn't have even the slightest curiosity to ask about the glaring (?) in the description, you can't blame him for it.
I bought 2 of his shitty bracelet lots and asked for combined shipping. He sang some song about how much it costs, etc s0 no-go. Then they show up inside the same envelope with a stamp value under a single shipping charge. Again, just be honest and say no I prefer the extra profit. - I've only ever experience the opposite of this. On two occasions, he sent the wrong watch. When I asked about it, he told me to keep them and in one case sent the right one at no extra charge. The other one had erroneously been sold to someone els and he offered a refund(along with telling me to keep the wrong one).
Pete a few years ago it was a treasure chest. Now it's all pure junk. - I have to agree with this for the most part. It all started to go crappy when Loy was buying up all the old stuff to turn into his abominations. Ramon was cut out of the market and could only offer the crap no one else wanted. He still,on occasion, has some decent offerings; particularly 4205s.
So WHERE IS HE SELLING ALL HIS GOOD STUFF? Tell me no one else asks this question ? - perhaps its because this conspiracy of his other sites simply doesn't exist. We often see him offering up a lot of watches fixed up with AM parts and asking market bearing prices.
He enjoys freedom of criticism so I will be the lone wolf to call him out. - others who were equally not diligent have also complained when they got exactly what they bought. For someone who is so down on Ramon, you seem to have made a lot of purchases from him. Most would have learned to stay away after the first disappointment.
Perhaps confinement is making you grumpy

Go ahead give him his free pass.
Not to realize he MUST have an alternate sales channel is simply putting your blinders on.
Life goes on Peter.

One time I ordered a watch from him and the next day I got a speeding ticket.
Another time I ordered yet another watch from him and got an extra buffalo wing in a ten piece (extra spicy) that I ordered for no extra charge.
Coincidence?
Maybe.
Either way, I now choose not to mess with forces I don't fully understand and just don't buy from him anymore.

It's probably just as well that he has closed up shop for the foreseeable future. With all this time to spend surfing the Internet, I would probably be tempted to grab some more of his Seiko(?) or Vintage diver watches(knowing exactly what they are from his pics and descriptions
