I like to snipe in person. I decide well in advance what my highest bid will be, and watch if the bidding goes over my target number. If it remains under my target, I place a bid with 2 - 3 seconds remaining. It is good for a quick rush, and is exciting when I win the auction.
My SWAG on the 62 Mas is ¥241600. I think that the covid-19 mess and global uncertainty will take a lot of steam out of the high bids.

It is certainly a nice piece. The lesser condition ones up for a BIN haven’t moved for an age, so must be overpriced, but this one is very nice. Probably 350 to 400k, but you guys have filled a lot of those spots! I’ll take the high side at ¥430,000.

Yeah, the current BIN examples are beat to crap so they're certainly not worth 300,000, but this is one of the nicest examples I've seen pop up in some time. Even the case back on this one looks excellent. Typically the case backs on these 62Mas references are so worn down that you can just barely make out a dolphin fin and some random haphazard letters and numbers, but this one looks exceptionally crisp. As said above, it's already at 250,000 with 2 full days left to go, so perhaps the pandemic and looming recession hasn't affected the vintage Seiko dive market yet. Will be interesting to see where this ends up, but looks like I way underbid at 270,000 haha.

Well, that was certainly a surprise. The auction ended at 254,000. I guess it got bid up really quickly and then the desire died out amongst the bidders. Definitely a sign of the times, as even with the replacement hands this would've easily gone for 350-400,000 last year. page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w379148479So bigbluekyle is the winner! You win the love and respect of the entire Wristsushi community! Thanks for playing everyone. This was fun. We should do this again in the future if anyone else finds an interesting piece up for auction. It's a fun way to play along without actually bidding on items yourself.

I won't hazard a guess but I will say the prices on ebay since the big market crash have been in the dirt.
My guess is you'll be surprised at a low final value.
Like I predicted gents. I am seeing how asking prices on BIN listings are getting crazy high now as everyone needs money being out of work or just a huge hit to their stocks, etc. Actual selling prices on auctions are nutty low these days.

Agreed. I sold mine for $2,750 a couple years ago. Thought it was a fair price at the time, but I am glad I don't need to sell it today.

Many Thanks for the Love and Respect - Best Prize Ever! I agree that Prices most likely will be going Down! I sold this 62MAS for $3200 about 2 years ago. I only sold this one as I have 3 others that I was getting around to finally restoring - they turned out Very Nice. I'm mostly a Buyer and only occasionally Sell. Prices go Up - Prices do Down - Lower prices just means More Carefully Selective Buying

From my understanding of the yahoo auction, then the bid count is zero when the auction ended, what it means is the seller withdraws the auction. So I guess the highest bid was not up to the expectation so it was withdrawn. How I know is I was the highest bid for a watch few months back with 1 min to go. No other bid and suddenly, I was informed that seller remove item for bids and the number of bids become zero. So this is likely what happen. Cos for the rest of the successful bids, it will show how many bid in total.

Sorry bud, that ship has sailed. Don't think he's going to get anywhere close to that in the current market no matter where he lists it.

Does that mean bigbluekyle isn't the winner and we will get our love and respect back? Lol no, the auction still ended at 254,000. The seller balking after the conclusion of the auction is irrelevant. It was just for the fun of seeing where auction prices will end up in this current turbulent market.

Does that mean bigbluekyle isn't the winner and we will get our love and respect back? According to the rules set forth in the opening post "Rules: The bid closest to the ending price of the auction without going over is the winner." Nothing is mentioned if the Watch actually Sells or Not Ending Price not Sales Price! I am NOT giving up my much needed and well earned Love and Respect Do I have to Pay Taxes on my Love and Respect Winnings as Ordinary Income?

If you're like me, you'll probably be able to write off enough love and respect losses from your marriage that you won't have to pay anything on your WristSushi winnings anyway. Jk jk.... Okay half-joking... Okay maybe not joking at all...

This one was listed at 1,000 yen, and seems to have ended with a successful high bidder. Market does seem pretty soft...

Yes just saw this auction ended. This is a successful auction with a lower than expected price. Guess with current market situation, ppl are holding back.
