Here is the monthly thread for May - so let's see what watches everyone has which were cased in May! Here are mine - I have 13: Seiko Goldfeather 15008, May 1961, 1513209: 2519-0100, May 1966, 6500048: 62MWK 010? My 4502-7001 shares my birth month. That's a very nice example - the case-back looks to be in excellent condition! I know I have some more, but for starters... May ‘65 May ‘76 Is that a Daini 62MAS? It looks like one to me... I don't have a Daini 62MAS, or any 62MAS at all - you're lucky! - but I have a Daini 5740C, a Daini 5717A, and I think a Daini 6220M and a Daini 61A. That early digital quartz Citizen looks very intriguing - do you have any more information about it?

Of courses there's a lot of hairlines, which is to be expected on a 50 year old watch, but there's no significant dings or dents anywhere on the case.

The 62MAS is an early small crown 8000 (Suwa) and has been re-lumed with creamy-green lume that looks a little brownish at some angles. The LED is an odd one. Citizen made a couple of different case types for the 59-7015 module in both gold and stainless steel finish. Quite often the white applied text and logo on the crystal is either badly worn or missing. I think the text is good to have, otherwise they just look like another anonymous mid-70s LED (with which it probably shares a module!). Setting the time was a bit of a pain as I recall. Having to press a button to display the time is something I will never get used to doing! They crop up from time to time on both Ebay (this one) and YJ, and usually seem to be sold in working condition. The LED is probably a far more robust unit than the LCD panels of the same era. Why Citizen bothered with this model and the technology is a bit of a mystery as the LCD units from Citizen were well and truly in mass production at this time. I think these LED watches were cheaper than the equivalently specced LCD pieces. Maybe the manufacture was totally outsourced and just badged as a Citizen - no evidence, but it just seems to be a strange one - and they look VERY similar to other LEDs of the era.
