Hi all, thanks for adding me. I’m a uk based watchmaker mainly restoring and repairing very early pocket watches with verge escapements. I also collect and work on interesting wrist watches, and have just got hold of a jdm gs 9f61 quartz watch (sbgx089). My excuse is that having a high accuracy quartz watch will allow me to have a reference time for checking against watches I’ve repaired and the magnetic resistance will prevent it getting magnetised when using lathe motors....well that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it!

Hey Keith, good to have you on board, the more watchmakers the better as there are a few tinkerers on here and some good watchmakers too. Where in the UK are you by the way? Oh, and as leffe says, some photos always go down well. The Seiko and the verge watches would be great to see...

I specialised in top quality Fusee clocks only. The occasional barometer. I still have some corkers stored away if that's your bag. Not the usual cobbled together rubbish. I only sold 100% genuine non marriages. Probably why I struggled near the end. I could be making a mint faking but luckily for the world of collectors I have morals. When Covid is over you're more than welcome to come say hi.

He’s into fusee and the like with a real penchant for lantern clocks, he’s got a few belters. Just a hobbyist like me, but like me addicted to it all.

I just sold the best Lantern clock I've ever seen about 2 months ago. It was by Peter Closen of Holborn c1650. Quarter striking. Rare beast. I have mostly Victorian clocks left. I have a rare 14" convex in need of some love. I will likely be selling my Boley lathe off soon if that's something you'd be interested in. 8mm with a full set of collets, cross slide and blah blah. Anyway sorry for crapping all over your post Keith. Enjoy the forum
