Hi all, wondering what the difference is between 6002, and 6005? Is there a subtle, (or obvious) difference between the two, or is it a market designation? Is the 6005 for the Australian market, perhaps? Thanks for any info. FWIW, 6139-6005 was the North American version of the later-gen Pogue. The first North American model was the 6139-6009, then the 6139-6005. Both North American models had the two-line ("Seiko Automatic") dial, which carries the dial code of -6009 in the lower right. The 6139-6002 has the three-line ("Seiko Chronograph Automatic") dial, which carries the dial code of -6030.
More completely useless information: a 6139-6005 should be stamped "Seiko Time Corp" on the inside of the caseback, and the winding weight will have a similar stamping ("SEIKOTIMECORP - UNADJUSTED"). A 6139-6002 will have neither.

I hit a mini lottery with my honey hole auction site just now. I normally browse for G-Shocks. Never a decent vintage Seiko except this one popped up. 6139-6005 Resist from 1971. Appears all original, untouched. Paid $275. I have some odds and ends to auction off to help cover much of the cost. Maybe a New year's project. Pretty happy 😃 Seller pics

UNADJ." on the winding weight until roughly mid-late 1972 when they changed to read "SEIKOTIMECORP UNADJUSTED" 6002 - no stamping on winding weight

6139-6005 from June 1971 North America market. Unpolished, great dial. Will restore with new crystal at some point.
Adding to the "useless info" information of mine 😆
Two line dial text
6030 dial code
"Seiko Time Corp" on inside case back
Given it's earlier production date it has "DAINISEIKOSHA CO.,LTD. UNADJ." on the rotor

Very nice pick, and the guts are clean with no visible wear

Sorry to ask about the same but the 6139 6001, 6007 and 6009 should have 2 or 3 lines of text? Suwa and jewel number or just suwa sign? Thank you Dial text differentiates the two. Rob's pictures are a nice example. The 6005 does not have "Chronograph" and the 6002 does not have "21j" above the Suwa (hidden by the chrono hand on Rob's first pic).
I'm a big fan of THIS site for beginners looking to purchase one of these.
