I've always been a HUGE Grand Seiko fan. The SBGA001 "Snowflake" Spring Drive is my next grail, though not in the near future due to its price point and having 2 kids in college now.
Anyway, whether it be here or on other forums or on Fleabay or in the authorized GS AD display cases, they seem to move slowly. As in lots of admirers, but few buyers.
Does any one else get this impression? Maybe I'm all washed up on this perspective. Share your thoughts please.

All you have to do is look at the price they are bringing to see why they move so slowly.

Might just be an attention bias (like when you shop for or buy a car and notice the model everywhere) - they may not move slower but may seem like it because you notice them still being there. The Snowflake is SBGA011, the 001 is the also-gorgeous champaigne SD: If you decide to hunt for a SBGA011, make sure to include Yahoo Auctions Japan in your search. One up there now for ~half retail.

Holy Cow ! Yes, of course I meant the SBGA011 Snowflake, thought the -001 is also an awesome looker.

As with any commodity it is easier to sell a $50 item than a $5000 item as there are more people with $50 in their pocket.
Take for example silver bars, ounces, and coins.
Back when silver was up a few years ago you could make $5+ an ounce on 1 ounce units.
5oz, 10oz, 100oz were much harder to move and had less markup.
Same thing selling drugs.
You buy a kilo or pound at a substantial discount than if you broke it down and sold quarters or ounces.
There are more crackheads looking to buy than block captains.

Shelby Mustangs sell slowly, too. It is a combination of brand and price. If you are going to spend $55,000, there are lots of ways to do it other than a Ford. Doesn't mean they aren't bad ass...
