Not sure what I should do this weekend.
I could go to the Cannabis Expo
The article says "Free Samples"
Wisconsin Center welcomes 2nd Cannabis Exposition June 4
WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Center is welcoming the second Wisconsin Cannabis Expo on June 4.
The one-day event will feature over 100 exhibitors including Lake Country Growers, Sweetly Baked and The Village CBD Shoppe, according to a press release.
The release says all angles of the industry will be covered, including growers, processors, dispensaries, operators, testers and investors.
Guests will have the chance to sample and purchase product, chat with thousands of cannabis enthusiasts and network with industry professionals. Guests can also attend presentations and seminars from leading experts in the cannabis, CBD and hemp industry.
The expo is set to take place from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue.
Or they got that other shit going on
Or I could go to work for 2 X $aturday and finish tilling my garden after work.

I'd go for 2 X $aturday and garden tilling.
If modern weed tastes as bad as it smells (like a skunk), I can't imagine inhaling it no matter how "high" it makes you.
As for "pride", I can't see how certain sexual predilections that people are likely born with is anything to be proud of. That's not to say they should feel shame, either.
Pride is generally reserved for accomplishments, and even then, I'm not sure how healthy an emotion it is in that regard.

I think "Pride" is one of the 7 deadly sins.
That being said tomorrow would be day 4 / last day / bar close and I am sure by then . . . . .
I digress and will try to channel TNJ's "policy and teachings" about acceptance and tolerance . . . . . .

Pride is generally reserved for accomplishments, and even then, I'm not sure how healthy an emotion it is in that regard. So the "pride" is in having the courage to come out and be public about this and all that goes with it, after millennia of having to hide it or be ostracized - or way worse. So, OK, I see how being 'proud to be courageous' can be followed by a corruption of the English language to say 'we have pride'.
But why 'celebrate' it? I think maybe that's what you were driving at. No one celebrates anything else that we were born with in life. It is a movement that got 'big' because no one wanted to deny it because of how that would reflect on themselves and frankly I fully support you doing what makes you tick or makes you happy but again to be frank it's none of your business how I roll and I don't care to know what team you are on.
I literally have no prejudices for anything that relates to where you were born, any anatomical attributes that include color but everything else, your culture, your religion, your country of birth or where you were raised, etc. I know I did harbor certain prejudices when I was younger but living and meeting and making friends with any possible description of people tore down that artificial barrier through experience.
In my company we all have dopey avatars just like this forum and if you self-identify as LGBTQA+ you get to have a little rainbow circle around your likeness/image/avatar. It's allows them to be in a 'club'. No one else gets fancy circles of any sort. Why not have special circles for everyone else? I conclude that to be 'inclusive' now you end up being 'exclusive' to everyone else.

Totally agree with you HiBeat. At work I’m a ‘diversity and inclusion champion’ which allows me to wear a rainbow lanyard and use a rainbow-styled email signature. Do I use them? Absolutely not. The only reason I’m a D&I champion is because a couple of years ago during the first lockdown I did some job interviews (via MS Teams) where one of the mandatory questions was around why diversity and inclusion is important in the workplace. 11 of the 12 candidates were proud to say they were D&I champions, yet not one of them gave a good answer (the one who wasn’t actually gave the best answer). So, I decided to sign up to become a champion myself to see how the company managed the process of selection, what additional training you got (over and above the mandatory training we all have to do), etc., etc. I sent an email to the designated address to request to become a D&I champion and, a couple of days later, I got a reply advising me I was now a fully-fledged champion, my rainbow lanyard was in the post and here’s a bunch of rainbow style email signature templates to choose from. And that was it. My point? Diversity and inclusion is just the latest buzz-word, something to pay lip service to. Companies spout it out constantly just to show they’re doing something without any real conviction behind it. If all it takes to become a ‘champion’ is ask to be one, then in my opinion it becomes a meaningless box-ticking exercise. And why is diversity and inclusion being badged with the ‘pride’ colours anyway? If we’re serious about it, it’s much more than just recognising the LGBTQ+ community. Like many, I don’t harbour any prejudices. I guess I’m unconsciously unbiased. I see the person, not the gender or skin tone, or the visible disability. As for sexual preference or religious belief - I couldn’t care less about it. Just don’t push it on me like I don’t push mine on you.

I'd only add that we have had a cultural shift of celebrating mediocrity for some time. When I was a kid you didn't get a trophy unless you actually won a competition against many and you actually outdid them. As my kids were growing up (late 1990s early 2000s) I saw the shift creeping in that I knew wasn't going to bode well. Someone decided that a trophy could be given for just showing up, even if you didn't participate to any level of competence, and that broke a lot of things. The real trophies got smaller as not to shame the participation trophies and I suspect with that the drive to excel and to win began to shrink. This crept into the schools too, where projects that had 1st/2nd/3rd place in my era are now lost among the sea of blue ribbons given to everyone for participating. In my day you had to stand up and present your work, taking the applause or shame that was commensurate of the effort put in. My kids left their projects on a table and people walked around and looked at them without feedback.
My take is that these kids are now adults, and want to make sure everyone gets their participation trophies and that no one has been left out. That's because that is what they were taught was normal and 'right' as they matured. Then we add the wildfire effect of social media and the legal teams waiting to take lawsuits from anyone willing to cry foul and we have where we are. It doesn't have much to do with pride, which I agree with HiBeat - this is now a buzzword we use to warn people that a new trophy is about to be handed out and that if you're caught doing anything but standing and applauding you'll be hearing from someone's lawyer shortly.

When Pride = Hubris it's most definitely a sin. Just ask the ancient Greeks.
I find the use of the word "pride" to be a bit odd, whether one says "I'm proud to be an xx-American" or I'm proud to be "xx" to refer to sexuality. But I suppose it's a way to state "I'm not ashamed to be XYZ where in the past it was something that many folks felt shame about.
When I was a kid folks often did feel shame about being gay or whatever. Now I think many people recognize being gay is just part of the human experience and isn't necessarily a choice and is certainly nothing to be ashamed of or attacked. But then again, loads of people are still prejudiced, so I guess we still do need pride week and black history month and all the other celebrations of diversity.
But to me "pride" seems to be a little odd to use to term being gay (or, say, Italian-American or whatever) since being that just is. A hilarious take on this comes from the late great (GOAT) Norm MacDonald - just Google Youtube Norm MacDonald Pride and you'll find it. NSFW of course. But I can see how this take could be hurtful to a gay person, so... if that humor isn't your cup of tea, that's fine.
As I've gotten older I've recognized that yeah, I've got loads of prejudices about various things that I don't necessarily realize, so I generally try to figure out why I feel the way I do about them when I notice. Part of it is that I'm just old now and my upbringing and background means certain things are just ingrained - Google comedian Youtube Bill Burr too old, live too long for another hilarious take on that. I occasionally have to remind my kids to give their grandparents some slack, and I hope they cut me some too. I'm trying....
In the corporate world "diversity" seems to be the new "green". I now have to answer questions from clients about what their competitors are doing around diversity. A few years ago they wanted to know what they were doing around green and climate change. From what I can see it's just marketing for the most part when corporations talk about these things.
