You gotta be careful with the Regattas. There are numerous mint-looking examples out there made from AM parts (read: Seikosis). An easy warning sign is a white/black day/date wheel. The originals were all black, as in the above picture. The one I used to have had a yellow sweep hand.

Bit of a tough call I reckon but of the 20 Seiko's I have in the collection, these would be my favorites; 1. 6309-7040 2.SPB 153 3. SPB 083

I researched this model while waiting for the auction to finish a couple of years ago. Interestingly, once I had owned the watch for awhile I realized that this iconic '70s style was a bit much for me on the wrist, and it was more suitable for admiring in the watch box...so I ended up flipping it. For this reason I haven't pursued the rally models, and, similarly, even the Bullhead. I (want to) wear all my watches.

While I'd love a 6159 or a silver dialed 6139, the grail being a MSST 6306, or a DVDP I'll probably never own them and so I'll post the 3 that I already own that make me very happy Rob

Really tough call for me, here goes the top 3 fav's out of my collection right now. My criteria is that all of these watches get wrist time, not favorites that sit in a watch box. 7549-7010 SBDX001 6139-7010 - cheating by showing my 6139-6000 which I like almost as much, but then I'd have to say I like my 6139-6030 equally Any of these 3 JDM 6139 Speed-Timers are my favorites.

2. Seiko 7A28-7090
I have had my eyes on this one for a while. It's another runner-up on my list of awesome and either ridiculously expensive, or hard to find, or both.

My top three that I don't have: 1. 44GS - unfortunately it is out of my range The Seiko Museum Ginza2. The 39SQW - one day I will find one (and I hope it is going to be the white one) 3. 5246-6000 or 5245-6000 - I already have a bad black one, so I am looking for a good white one Adventures in Amateur Watch Fettling

My local watchmaster has one of those in his collection.
When he showed it to me I was not impressed (I guess it looked rather basic, I know he knew what was going on inside of the case)
The red light in the top right corner of the dial is supposed to light up when the battery is low and needs replacing.

I've been in this nutty hobby for a decade or more and I've never been exposed to them before. Thank you ! So here is a link to an article that I find very interesting, and it seems to indicate the red LED light is for another reason: www.crazywatches.pl/seiko-3923a-vfa-led-quartz-1973

I'm not sure I have a top three and I feel bad about leaving out some favorites. However, I'll put in a good word for the 39SQ - I do wear mine a bit. What would I like? Maybe a dark 50m Cronos? Maybe a particular GS?

I think the red LED blinks once per second Josh. Could be wrong, my wife seems to think I am a lot (most) of the time.

Yes, every second. You have to be directly in line to see it, but it is reasonably bright when the battery is fresh.

I'm opining from the point of current ownership. Couldn't decide on the third choice so it's a tie between the 4006 and the 7016. There's always a spot for a blue Seiko. I've had a curiosity about the EL series but it's not something I'd rank in my top 3.

I can't imagine any way in heck I could find 3 Seikos to be in a top grouping. Much too much diversity.
Seems like a challenge that has no winning answers.
My favorite top 3 I own now? Nah. Can't do it.
Top 3 Seiko ever produced? Even less so. Impossible.

Of the ones I currently own, my favorite are: The watch F/K/A "The Marine Master"! 7A28-7089 Titanium And the infamous SPORK: Sure, there are other watches out there that I would love to have in my watch box (like a REAL tuna), a Spring Drive diver and others but I have a rule that I will be happy with what I have, not unhappy at what I don't have.

I love all the feedback. I am discovering lots of watches I have not be exposed to - at least not like this. If you have an "alt 3" or other lists - please continue to share.

These are the three Seikos in my collection that I am happiest with at the moment, though not necessarily the ones I wear the most. And of course, I have aspirational Seikos in mind (e.g. a 5718 haha) Grand Seiko 43999 SD (early 57GS) Seiko 6217-8001 (62MAS) Seiko 45899 (Olympic monopusher 5719)
