Congrats inboost! I also didn't get an instruction booklet in mine. Maybe that's just how it works these days? I didn't even know you cold register these... I will have to go figure out how that works later today

I didn't even know you cold register these... I will have to go figure out how that works later today Just head on over to seikousa.com/products/srpj41 and click the watch registration button. It will ask for your serial number and a copy of your receipt to be uploaded.

Thanks trilo. This is a cool modern Seiko that ticks the right boxes for me. I am glad to be part of a small group of owners here . My 20-year old son, who is more of a watch snob than me, and does not generally understand my "thing with Seiko", likes this one "the most" of all the Seikos I own, and I have a few. 75 (or there about) as of last count...

Have you sat down with him and discussed about Japanese watch making and its impact on world of horology?

Good to see we do have a group of owner's here. Thought maybe I was gonna be shunned out of tribe for initially posting and thinking this piece was actually cool and interesting looking. And recent SOLD prices- $815 and $789 BIN's... $589 and $659 at bid.... I am not a flipper, but guess this would have been a good candidate for those that choose to profit.

trilo - I think 20 year-olds are just on the edge of knowing everything and realizing they know nothing (or at least very little)... One of his favorite watches is a Orient Neo-70 with panda dial - so all hope is not lost SteveX - the resale prices leave me torn. On one hand its nice to know it is worth as much or more than I paid, on the other I am guessing the guys paying more to own one, really like it for it is. For my part, this will be in my "wear it like it didn't matter" collection - it will not be a box queen. It will be in good company - my Speedy Pro has got the same treatment - and somehow it makes it more endearing to me - having lived in a watch, with the scuffs to prove it.

Absolutely agree- Didn't buy this for it to be a safe queen (king?) or to try and resell, and I am gonna wear the heck out of it. But somehow the validation that I didn't screw up/buyers remorse for paying near MSRP doesn't hurt, either. Time will tell what happens with the supply/demand.

Stepping outside the box already I'm looking for a different band for mine. I've already scuffed the buckle with the signature and since I can't polish it off I'm going to try something different. This Barton 'Linen' colored canvas strap seemed to play nice with the silver accents and orange / teal face. Not sure just yet? What do you think?

inboost - I like it, a cool casual look. BTW, what would you call the case finish on this one? It's not brushed or polished or blasted... something in-between all of those?

dapellegrini - I believe this is considered a 'tumbled' finish on the case.
As for the strap, my Wife just called it a ' Preppy' look. That may have ruined it for me

It looks like I might have just netted an SRPJ43 at MSRP from an out-of-state AD. Fingers crossed it arrives ...

A mesh bracelet would look ok but you might have to sandblast it or tumble it to match the finish. Maybe you could just find another bracelet like the stock one (without the signature)? They are not that expensive. I totally agree the finish looks tumbled rather than blasted. I have both of those processes on my list for future in-house capability. I have to clear some junk out of the garage first.

To my eye that strap is a huge swing-and-a- miss on that watch. Looks like something a guy on WUS would do. This beauty belongs on a non-mesh bracelet of your choice. Strapcode must have something to please your eye !

I find the SRPJ43 dial allows for a black strap. Wish Seiko had done a bit of an upscale on it like they did on the SPB237 straps. The black strap for the SRPJ43 can be yours for $45-ish including tax and shipping from Seiko. It is the L0FP02CJ0 which was used on the SRPE83 Brian May special as well.

HiBeat - do you own any bracelets from strapcode? I am curious to learn how they compare with Larry's (uncle seiko)...
