Some pretty heavy hitters showed up last night, including an A.Lange & Sohne Flyback Chrono, Ulysse Nardin "Freak" and a Patek Phillipe World Time. This collage doesn't do these watches justice, especially the movement photo of the A.Lange & Sohne which is an absolute sight to behold.

Wow. There’s enough there to trade for a couple sports cars. I love Lange and that Patek world time chrono is very nice in blue.
And I have only seen a couple freaks in person. Worth looking up. That’s Ulysse Nardin putting the movement on the hands essentially.

Well I can't take credit for bring the crew together since it was the coordinator of our local RedBar chapter who arranged it. You might want to see if there's a local RedBar group in yer neck of the woods. Here's a couple of case back shots for you;

I just found it fascinating to listen to the owners talk with such passion as the rest of us less well healed collectors do. It was great experience.

Thanks for the additional shots, those are just amazing. I know I'd feel pretty small in that crowd. I'd pipe up with, "Hey check out this beat up $160 USD watch I saved from the ocean, I overspent by $0.12 not buying new" and they'd probably look at me like, "The bar tab is double that son, maybe ask your mom for more allowance?"

These meet ups are a lot of fun and in spite of what is on display, there is little or no pretense present. Mind you, I did find some comfort in the fact that I was breathing the same air

For a while we had a local Lange dealer close to me - and I got to handle, play with and pretend to own many. Some of their Moonphases are amazing - the jumping hour Zeitwerk is a marvel to play with, and actually nearly all of their watches are amazing. Fun fact - each new watch they build, then tear down then build back - so they have built it twice when new: thetruthaboutwatches.com/2020/06/a-lange-sohne-builds-the-same-watch-twice/
