What a fantastic building to have as your workplace tritto, much better than the utterly soulless concrete, steel and glass modern offices that I’m more used to frequenting (when I actually visit any of our offices that is!). Thanks for sharing!

WOW tritto , what a great tour! I love all of the 'olde' architecture and real show of craftsmanship! The woodworking is astonishing and makes modern stuff look shameful to me.
Did you catch the glass distortions in this photo?
Apparently this is because glass manufacturing back in these times was done via blowing a huge bubble of glass, severing it and slicing it to lay flat, and then trimming to intended dimensions. This makes every piece unique and a little bit different in how light passes through it.
I'm also a huge fan of safes. I love their fascinating lock designs and methods of containment using layers and other interesting features to thwart entry. Thanks for thinking to include them!

"finding weird features and hidden corners." There is something about old buildings/homes. The adventure like you say, as a kid, the house my dad grew up in was one of those places. Going there on weekends exploring, sure bothered his Aunts that still lived there, but wow for us kids...

Thanks guys. I really enjoyed taking the WT out for a few walks over the last couple of weeks. It's on its way to Camrok now so he can show it around NSW.

Miles? What are these archaic miles you speak of? I estimate approximately 50km local travel plus 1800km from Hobart to Newcastle in NSW. We can call that roughly 1150 miles.

tritto, maybe we could report the total in leagues, cubits, or paces? Kilometers are just so boring. In today’s terms, we should also calculate the carbon footprint of this watch. How many tons of CO2 were emitted in its transport around the world?

The WT has touched down in its next location and is in the hands of camrok's mother-in-law. I hope you've been a good son-in-law, Cam 🤔

Thanks tritto . I will try and give it a perfect Newcastle experience! For clarification I have been living with the in-laws whilst our house is being built. Not one of our fondest of adult decisions we have made. Will be heading to Sydney for some non MIL time this week so perfect timing.

Hi all Day 1 of world timer starts with coffee. I’m in a semi rural town just outside of Newcastle and next to Lake Macquarie NSW. The beads of rice are amazing bracelets! Awkwardly my coffee set up is banished to the garage because we are living with my wife’s parents and MIL doesn’t like the smell of coffee so I’m banished to the garage for by daily brew.

Wow coffee in the garage! I'm starting to agree with you might not have been your most adult decision. I don't want to jinx you but my parents had a house fire 20 odd years ago. After a year in an apartment paid for by insurance, they had not settled or started to rebuild. No place to go (they could have rented and paid out of pocket I guess) but they moved in with my mom's parents (my grandparents) after abut 4 months my father moved out and the filed for divorce after 42 years of marriage (Should have been over in the first 10 but hey) then it 2 more years to finalize it... I'm not saying it was moving in with my GP's but I don't think it helped. Coffee in the garage wishing you the best and hope your home's finished sooner vs later...

camrok I admire your dedication and adaptation to keeping coffee in your morning routine. It only serves to give you more appreciation for what is to come! I bet the trade-offs are worth it and that with some perseverance and judicious patience you'll get to where you're going with your marriage and sanity intact.

inboost those words are so insightful and kind. It summarizes the journey well! It was a bit late for a decent walk through but this is the entrance to our place. I regularly go and check out the progress.

Back in the office of things non in-law Preparations are underway for Trouble & Strifes birthday celebration. Mrs LJR is off for a trip to Sydney tomorrow. We are set to see Banksy at the Town hall. I hope to show you all some of the sights of our ancient seaside first settlement. It pales in comparison to the World Timers adventures so far with the oldest building dating to 1816 in Sydney CBD.
