I must admit I like them, so far I have two. A LE RFDS the case back. And my Oris Pro Pilot X

Oris is a great independent Swiss brand. I bought my son this "Shrek" diver a while back - and I am happy to borrow/wear it from time to time.

Love Oris, and that they are independent.
Had an Atelier Pointer Date that I enjoyed.

two and counting. Guy has one that he is in love with and won't take less than he is asking saying it doesn't have any scratches when it clearly does in his pictures....His price would be worth it if the watch was in a bit nicer shape... Hard to capture the complexity of the dial... This was added last Xmas...The bracelet is a bit flashy for my taste but I manage....

I'm a fan! That Red Dial Big Crown is the bomb! I've been eyeing one that has an in house movement (403?) but just can't seem to save up enough, long enough to pull the trigger, think if it had a center seconds I could make it happen alas....

Yeah, I picked up this pre-owned oxblood version earlier this year. Initially I was hoping to a bronze cased one but since I had a bracelet from the blue/grey model, I went the SS route for flexibility. Mine does not have the in-house movement which jacks up the price. Personally, I'm indifferent in this regard but my wallet pays attention

Back when I started looking at Oris they were very proud of their heritage and the Inhouse thing. Much of the literature they came with my first one detailed their micro machining technics. As their popularity grew I noticed more and more movements were being brought in from others... I do see some discounts for buying preowned, but still not making the decision. Maybe after the daughter finishes her degree...4 more years!

I should add that I've been a fan of Oris since they hosted a meet & greet in conjunction with Calgary Jewelry at a local pub many years ago and that's when I was introduced to their 65 Heritage diver. Since then, Oris always remained engaged with the local watch community including some Zoom sessions during the pandemic. Tonight with the Calgary Stampede in full swing, they and Calgary Jewelry are hosting another function to which I shall be attending.
I give Oris full marks for engaging their clients both actual and potential. I'm unaware of any other watch brand that does this. Hence my appreciation.

That is very smart of them. I had a similar experience with my first Nomos - where they actually sent a brand expert / evangelist out to my jeweler. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the brand, and it makes it even easier to really get into it.

Great time at Calgary Stampede event hosted by Calgary Jewelry and Oris tonight. Checked out some new offerings, drank a few brews, had some nice food and caught up with some of the local RedBarYYC crew. Yours truly's ugly mug in lower right photo with the Colonel Sanders facial hair. Also spotted what I think is the largest watch I've seen in the wild, a 60mm Panerai! Quite the beast and great times!

There we engaged with their followers and listened to what they were saying...I'm always on the hunt for a good deal on less common or more complicated. That said even retail ORIS are a great value. Surprisingly over the last few years a bunch and I mean a TON of watches are being sold redialed as ORIS on eBay. Kind of amazing actually. Look like they came right out of the shop next to Patel's.

Interesting about the plethora of redials on eBay. I was totally unaware of this until a chap over on the Canadian Watch Collectors forum expressed hesitation to buy pre-owned for the very reason you cited. I usually buy pre-owned from watch forums and haven't used eBay for a long time. When I purchased my first Pointer Date at Calgary Jewelry, it boiled down to either the blue/grey or oxblood version. I went the blue/grey route back in 2018 or so but when a pre-owned oxblood version appeared on WUS and CWC several months ago, I went for it. The bronze cased models are killer too.

Bronze looks cool and I'd love to see one with patina...the real kind not the accelerated that was the rage when Bronze first came out. As for the redials I was way new to Seiko and suggested a guy at work star off with some less expensive ones off eBay. I had no idea about the Patel workshops at the time. He mentioned them and I said maybe They just like Bright colors over there, not having any idea what they really were...Lesson learned but ended up getting a couple of okay movements that were worth practicing servicing on...

My two. The second one was my very first effort at hand luming (there was none when it arrived). Someday I will get round to re doing it with a more vintage colour to suit the dial lume.
