Admins . . . please feel free to move or delete. Somehow, I got an an on my browser for this watch. A really nice Bulova diver. I think it's a good looking watch and very cool that they put a moisture sensitive piece of paper on the dial that changes color if any water gets in the watch. More info here

69ChevelleSS , I think you posted in the wrong section. If you look through the display back on the similar Marine Star it clearly has a Miyota (Citizen) movement in it. I believe the MIL SHIPS would have the same so this post should be moved to the Japanese section!!!
"Today, some of the finest mechanical movements come from Switzerland and Japan, from firms like Sellita on the Swiss side and Miyota on the Japanese. That is why Bulova is proud to use movements from these two companies in our range of mechanical watches."

Hey it's Japanese by origin but the Bulova brand has such strong US connotations who's to say where to put this.
Cool idea indeed. If there is moisture ingress and the paper changes color, is it reversible when it dries out?
Good clean dial in the creamy lume style it's a gorgeous piece. 69ChevelleSS are you going to get one ?

Well, I was hoping for something much more salacious when clicking on the title of the thread... if the water-sensing paper doesn't change back after the humidity is dealt with then I guess it would be like if the dial melted in a fire, to let you know it got too hot? Sorry, just being silly - very cool watch - reminds me of the one I was trying to ID in a vintage photo a few weeks back.

I don't think I'm going to get one but I do have another special piece on the radar in the near future. It is a REALLY nice looking watch but Seiko is my first and true love! I never pulled the trigger on that Glycine watch I asked about a while ago. LOL!!!

LOL inboost . . . I did post it in the Japanese section but it got moved here. Maybe the "SWISS MADE" on the dial indicates that id doesn't have a Miyota movement? I don't know the Swiss labeling laws so who knows? I did think it was a good looking watch and a decent watch for around $700.

The fact that the non-limited production features a Miyota movement certainly dilutes the notions implied by the Swiss Made branding, at least in my opinion.

Apparently there is a limited edition version for more $$$ that has the Swiss Made notation on the dial and a Sellita, vs the standard version, with no country on the dial and a Miyota... EDIT: I actually quite like the design, but don't like the 16mm lugs and the poor lume. Here's the link to the Swiss / Limited one - around $2k www.bulova.com/us/en/product/98A265.html

Thanks for setting me straight

Not enough there for me to look past the ridiculous lug width.

If I remember rightly (which isn't guaranteed) Bulova were bought by Citizen, which explains the Miyotas
