This summer has been nuts. Took my kids on a road trip from San Diego up to Blane, WA and back again in 8 days...
While on that trip, I got a phone call asking me to step in and be a long term Substitute for a local high school photography teacher who is a friend of mine.
Switching from photographing watches and selling parts to working full time teaching photography has been quite the transition.
I miss my slower days, that I could spend time learning and tinkering.
The kids are great, the job is great (doesn't pay enough), But I do miss keeping my own schedule.
I am loving wearing some of my watches, but finding the time to take great photos and selling them has been difficult. My database is basically done, and I have been listing parts on ebay. The auction style has been a total bust. Its all lessons learned.
But, I miss you guys! I miss all the learning, exploring, and geeking out on a new subject.
I really really really hope that I can switch to part time soon, or that I get more used to working a 7:30-5, and still have time to do my hobbies.
I am more impressed with you all who can do all the watch stuff AND work AND have a family life!
Kudos and hugs,

Good to hear from you DaughterSeiko! Indeed there's quite a balancing act to all that you are involved in. The good news is that the watches will wait. They don't get hungry or sick and they are fine with sleeping until you're ready to pick them up again.

inboost is right, the watches will watch patiently. Unless they have batteries. Then they are more like ticking time bombs that could go horribly wrong at any moment. Best to either check in on those every few months - or remove the batteries for longer storage.

Great to see you back and the interest doesn't have to wane to let "Real Life" keep you off the forum boards.
Enjoy the watches and the selling and check in when you can. If there's pressure then it's not much of a hobby
