Hello, newbie hear from South Carolina. Have a variety of Swiss and German watches but also have a few Seiko watches handed down from my father. Two favorites are a 6309-7049 from 1981 a 6139-6005 from 1973. Both are all original (sans strap and bracelet) and running perfectly. 6309 recently serviced only (no polish) and am looking to service 6139 only because of age and imperfections in original crystal. Will post pictures when I figure out how. Regards!

Welcome!
Create an Imgur.com account, drop your photos there (very easy), then grab the BBCode from there and paste here - attaching photos here is no fun and usually doesn't work.
Also, are you looking to service the watch yourself or have it done by an expert? There are at least a couple good options for servicing a6139 in the US.

Welcome i29gman - guessing you're in upstate SC - I don't know if we have other members in South Carolina, but there are a few of us in the Old North state, so good to have another one in the region.
This is a good place to come for talking about Japanese watches. Sounds like you have a good collection of European watches and a nice start on the Japanese ones too.
Glad to have you here.

Thanks for all the responses. I actually live in the Charleston, SC area where watch repair services are hard to come by. Looking forward to the knowledge I know will be shared here.

Your serviced watch looks great? New crystal too?

Yes, new crystal, had the upper and lower arbor ports jeweled, did a full overhaul service, new gaskets and regulated.
A year ago I stumbled on that NOS crystal on ebay for $60, and sent it along for this watch. They are pretty hard to come by at any price, and I think originals will sell for at least double that if you do find one.

Welcome i29gman! I'm just North of you as well in North Carolina. Funny enough I just bought a crystal for a watch on ebay and it came from Charleston. Glad to have you here and looking forward to seeing some of your wristware. We post a WRUW thread every day and we all jump in and post whatever we've picked out for the day (doesn't have to be Japanese by a long shot - I'm wearing a Braun today of all things!). Best of luck with those restorations, they will no doubt be fine watches to enjoy when they are done!

You might need a 5th post before you can PM, which is just one more reply here. Here's one of my 6139's getting re-cased after full service and jeweling just yesterday... Looking at the crown I would hazard a guess that's an 'O' ring and not a 'D' ring. I rests me case m'lud.
