I have set up a new comp (Win7) and installed GIMP 2.10.36 for picture editing.
While it is way more than I will ever need it is missing one important feature...Arrows/Pointers.
I believe plug ins are called Scripts for this feature and while I have found a few and installed them GIMP recognises them in the Scrip folder but they are greyed out when the prog is run.
ANY GIMP experts out there that can assist.
Thanks

Fergus - please go check out Screenpresso. Super easy and very helpful - we all use it here at work and I use it at home too. Free version is very capable. Pay-for adds some nice touches.

Related to the grayed scripts: "Those scripts are written such that they are only available if the active drawable is a layer which has an alpha channel. In other words, the menu commands will be grayed out if you are editing a mask or channel, or if the layer you are editing does not have an alpha channel." Original discussion: gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4218To me it sounds that you have succesfully installed the script, but it needs a certain conditions to be active, and I think the quote above could be the cause (not necessarily identical reason). Much like office tools will have a grayed out menus, if you don't have a sheet to work with. Hope this helps.
