i've got this on the wrist and the day on the road... ah, i got ahold of the "add image" button, that's brilliant, now i don't need another tab open on my computer just to post a photo, i much prefer dragging and dropping from the desktop. very cool, thanks!

A pair of watches landed last night from Kyiv, Ukraine. One wasn't running and the other was happy to start right up. So today the Chaika / Чайка model I3I207 (according to THIS picture) from the late 1970s. From what I have learned this watch was produced at a factory in the town of Uglich which produced all parts of the watch from jewels and springs through cases and dials. The brand was named Чайка, meaning "seagull" after cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in Space(Chaika was the callsign Tereshkova used during her historic flight on board Vostok 6.). So cheers to brave pioneers heading off into the great unknown!

Just finished rebuilding my H558-5000 (Arnie). Also fitted a Yobokies sapphire with blue A/R. Very pleased. It's taken months as kept getting side tracked by other watches and old pendulum clocks (of which I know slightly less than nothing now).

Giving a try to this one today. It was in the batch that came back from watchmaker last week. Not sure i'll keep it, I prefer my other one's patina. It still needs a nice crystal, some new gaskets and a waterproof test.

The only russian watches I still have are two vostok a Molnija Pocket watch and a big AchS-1 Sukhoi or MIG cockpit watch. I like the old Vostok ones (and some newer) , or the 24h raketa models and many other ones. Sure, one day there will be more in my watch boxes.

You are right, the prices are raising indecently, I try never losing money, but I never sell at high price, I prefer to sell easier at the right price. Perhaps should I put the watches I want to sell in the Buy/Sell section.
