GX Cosmotron today. It's a single coil tuning fork in this that Citizen designed after using the Bulova twin coil movement in the Hisonic

Make your own schedule I guess.
Can't get fired.
Guy to the left take 3 days off without getting approval just stops showing up.
#3 get backs from a weeks vacation on Tuesday and takes his normal Friday off anyways even though we are now shorter staffed cuz of above.
Then #2 decides to make his own schedule and take Friday and Saturday off even though he knows #3 is off and the guy to the left won't be showing up this week.

Why it's a Zantech 1100 Quartz Watch Monitor ouroboros ! It's been dead for a long time at my own hand. I was trying to calibrate it and was unable to dial it in. I tore it's 1980s tech crystal oscillator apart and busted it badly. After a lot of CPR I finally gave up. From time to time I look for a replacement and got lucky last week with a TCXO (temperature compensated crystal oscillator) that just almost fit, but more importantly had the waveform output I needed to wake this tester back up again from it's coma. Today it's finally back on it's legs and ticking over. Here it is in calibration (to 9,999,992.0Hz for some odd reason) testing a watch that is known to move no more that 0.060 seconds per month so the Zantech better had read 0 as it's only good to +/- 1sec/month (+/-0.032 sec/day).

You're buying the blue Tag 'member.
I am going to get rid of some recent finds tomorrow and could justify funding the watch that way as well but . . . . .

I liked the World Traveler a lot when I had it and knew one day I’d snatch one up if it came my way for a fair price. I couldn’t resist it when it showed up at auction a few weeks ago. It finally showed up today and it’s a little rough around the edges, but I will take care of that. But at least it’s running.

That's some serious gear. You're taking it to the end with the tools and calibration! A while back, I thought all I needed was a dainty Weishi to service my mechanical watches. As all know, one then starts scratching around the peripheries and discover other watches, ponder about the benefits for a while, get one just to see them in the metal, then another one, scratch a bit more and so the cycle widens. I thought mechanicals and automatics would be my nirvana, then I discovered quartz analogs weren't so bad, now I have LCD quartz too and just last week I got my first perpetual. The latter two types are fairly new and I'm refraining from the indulgence. What am I trying to say, it's become a fight for restraint but then you stumble upon things enablers are doing and the curiousity takes hold. inboost I don't want to be you when I grow up, it's too expensive.

To be fair ouroboros those photos were taken at my workplace. Those tools belong to the business and are used in everyday tasks I perform. Being with the company for so long has it's perks. As I'm the boss in my department, I need only ask myself for permission to use company assets for personal projects which I usually grant as long as time is properly accounted for and made up.
