...or Storm Trooper, if you insist.
I'm hoping to start actually selling a bunch of watches that I've been sitting on and meaning to move on to new homes for years...and I feel like the helmet just doesn't get enough love sometimes. This is a really nice example overall; it appears to be all-original and is running, although it for sure needs a service. The sweep hand does go all the way around but does not reset to zero without a couple of pushes. I have no knowledge of its service history. The case is unpolished and absolutely minty, with no major scratches or dings (just tool marks on the caseback), and it's on the original fishbone bracelet.
The main area where the watch loses points would be the dial, which shows some staining. I haven't tried to clean it and won't venture an opinion on how easy that might be to accomplish. Both dial and hands need a relume and the hands ought to be either repainted, or I guess replaced, unless you prize authenticity above all else. I actually thought the hands might have already been repainted once, but extensive comparison to other examples has led me to think that the original paint on these just looks sort of "meh" after a while.
Otherwise, I made the following notes when I first planned to sell this watch: Date misaligns slightly on quickset, then corrects when the crown is pulled out. Chapter ring is moderately faded and dial has some small stains, most notably right over the day window. Tiny chips by 4 and 11. Original fishbone bracelet with enough links for maybe 7.25". Case is in really nice shape. Clean movement with some signs of wear.
I haven't sold much on here, though happy to provide references for those sales, and I can provide my ebay profile with 50ish positive reviews.
Bearing in mind that these bracelets alone are going for over $100, I'm asking $275 shipped via Priority Mail in the US via Paypal F&F; shipping at cost worldwide.
I recognize that some may hesitate given the watch's unknown service history and mechanical issues. If you find it has major undisclosed issues that significantly affect its value and we can't reach a resolution, I'll cover the cost of shipping back to me and refund the price of the watch minus my actual shipping cost.
Thanks for reading, and here's hoping the new image server works smoothly!
Danny
Edited to add: I won't charge extra for the "666" serial number!
