G/day all, I just wondered if anyone here has had anything to do with A S Schild movements , they were used mostly in Trench watches in the 1900+, I have a Schild 153/331 movement missing a Balance and would like to know where I may be able to get one. thanks

I had the same problem 2 years ago! Couldn't find a balance for my AS554, which had a worn out balance staff (I don't own a staking set ). Couldn't find a complete balance and passed it on (staffs are readily available). You can hunt down another movement, but there is a chance that the balance is worn on that aswell. Swiss system is bit different than Japanese. They use a generic code for parts (same across the calibers) and you need to know the movement number. Have you confirmed the calibe number? Usually it's stamped beneath the dial (looks AS554 or one of its many variants).
