Maranez with Yobokies hands...most Doxa hands are not so legible, especially in the dark. and it's so much easier to modify a Maranez than it is to mod a Doxa...

I haven't had much time these last few weeks, my parents' medical worries taking priority over my other activities. Our spring break is most welcome. Today there was a watch fair close to home, as I already had a big "parcel loss" this week, I wasn't really in a buying spree... But I spent a nice morning there with TinkerSon.

The Ricoh 570 for me today to go along with all the green in the world. It's raining here, would really love to be on the beach with scubarob99 instead of stuck inside
dudlei - those Bulova Astronauts are so cool in their history and design. Hope to have one in my collection myself one day!
Love the glitter bomb twhp101 , nice catch
Along side a "Diana's Delight Clematis" that followed us home from the garden center yesterday.

TinkeringFR, I hope your parents are on the mend! A parcel loss sounds very worrisome, was one of your dealer's shipments confiscated?
It sounds like a great time with your son. I would have enjoyed going too but my son won't even wear a watch so I doubt he would come along

Thanks inboost , We had some worrying news a few weeks ago about my wife's stepfather, and more recently about my father. These are things you fear as you get older, but that's the way life goes. The prognosis is now more positive for both of them, but it's going to be a long road. And for the parcel, yes, it's my last chrono batch. F...X doesn't know where it is... I guess it has been "confiscated" as you say, but not by the customs.

Week after week
Gonna have to clean out the shed and get the mowers and bikes out today.
And transplant my seedlings.

All this talk of beaches and rain… I don’t want to hear it! Still snow on the ground, and plenty of it, here in Alaska. I spent a bundle on this a few weeks ago and I still can’t decide whether I love it enough to keep. I’m trying to figure out if it really brings me joy, which I suppose answers the question…

itsdannym - I don't know what to say, the weather out here is certainly tame as a kitten compared to your climate year round! Now the watch is a real beauty, but I can understand the struggle with 'value' you must be experiencing. I have been chasing the original 6159-7000/1 for several years but have yet to be able to take the big step to own one. They trend to be even more expensive than the masterful tribute you have and at that look like heck! What nuts we are for some models versus others eh?

I’m right there with you! For whatever reason, I think the original would scratch an itch that a reproduction just doesn’t for me. No logic to it, but then…this is not a logical pursuit, is it?

No, it sure isn't logical, not even for a second. I often turn it over in my mind thinking, "How on earth would I explain this to a stranger who was completely indifferent to watches?" Then I laugh and say, "I couldn't!" The good news is that we're all in good company in our little corner of the Internet so no such explanations are necessary, and thankfully there's no snow on the ground around the website
