I had sent my Timex Ironman 150 lap for a battery change at the Timex place in Arkansas. After some time without knowing anything about it I called nd was notified that they cannot do the battery change... Bologna... they offered to replace the watch for several 250 lap watches that are superior in features. I think the watch was ruined when they opened it up, maybe they lost it, who knows... but if they do send me the one I selected for the replacement will mean that Timex is superior to Omega anytime. This is the one I selected www.amazon.com/Timex-T5K588-Ironman-250-Lap-TapScreen/dp/B0083XCL9O

That's always a good day!

I found Timex CS to be very accommodating, and you'll probably come out ahead in that transaction. But I'm wondering if there were no competent local sources that could have changed the battery for you.
And an unrelated Timex subject. Hadn't seen this Timex before; the vendor advertised it as "vintage". (image, the vendor's)

It likely is vintage, Norm. Sort of. I have this one that dates to March of 1991.

Timex rock. Their retro Digi's are cool and considerably cheaper than their Casio and Seiko cousins.
