Getting on for 10 weeks ago I sent my Citizen Diver to my watchmaker here in Perth for a full movement service at the time I also sent him my Vintage Hamilton Pocket watch for service as well. At the time I asked the question about how long in would take for the 2 of them and he said 2 to 3 weeks tops.
I was happy for that so left the watches with him, after 3 weeks I rang him and he said oh I'm flat out and they will be another 3 weeks I told him I wasn't happy. Another 4 weeks went by and I called him again, the Citizen needs a part and it will be another week. That tells me that he hadn't opened the watch for nearly 2 months at that point, when he did he found he needed a part.
My Watchmaker and I have known each other for over 10 years and I would have thought he would be more up front with servicing the watch and, letting me know it was going to take this long because he was so snowed under.
Here's the kicker my Seiko Bullhead needed servicing so after the drama with the citizen diver there was no way I was going to let my watchmaker near it. I contacted Spencer Klein spoke to him about it, sent the chrono to the USA from Australia, and the turn around wait for it######################## 10 days. Spencer the true professional he received the watch on Saturday last week gave me a full quote and told me exactly what was wrong with it and the repair's needed with in 3 days.
He is pulling it down and servicing the movement as we speak.
OH and my watchmaker tells me I "Should" have the citizen and the pocket watch back by the end of next week we'll see. I bet you I get the Bullhead back from the USA first.
Cheers Mark

Big Unit, as soon as I read the title I knew it was going to be about this ongoing saga, remember the original post vividly . . . it always pisses me off the most when 'mates' or businesses with whom you have a long term relationship take advantage of that and basically screw you over, leaves a seriously sour taste in one's mouth . . . on the bright side, stoked you've now sorted something with Spencer that will likely lead to a permanent association, a good result . . . especially once you get the Boofhead back from your one time trusty local dude.
