A very generous member is gifting this watch to me and should be here early sometime next week. The watch is basically brand new with one catch...... apparently it was a store display model and will come to me w/o a movement or a case back or band. OK no biggie as I'll call Citizen to see what the price is for the items needed and if they are still available. According to the Rep they are available but he wouldnt quote me a price. He said I needed to send the watch in for an estimate and they would contact me with the price! I have bought many small parts from Citizen directly before but I guess movements are something they wont sell directly to a consumer. Hoping now when it arrives and when Citizen gets it that it wont cost as much as buying a new complete one from the NET!

My guess is, it's going to be an expensive endeavor. They'll probably say they have to do the labor, and no doubt gouge you for it. All that said, I hope it works out in your favor. Oh, and Kudos to whomever is donating it to you.

Oh, and Kudos to whomever is donating it to you. I'm sure they will insist upon doing the labor! I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Citizen store display models DO NOT HAVE THREADS on the case to screw the case back on.
The back that comes with the display models is a smooth one that is glued on.

Hmmm...that's pretty clever. Glad Seiko didn't do that!

Well...... you were absolutely correct :-/ I was hoping you were wrong and that I could get a case back for it but the case back has no threads and buying a case back for it will be a lost cause! The watch as it is is only something I can now stare at! Perhaps someone will come along who needs a dial and hands for theirs!?
