Ok gents, I see many watches on the Internet... most are for us mortals, the ones that must go to the supermarket and buy the cheaper goods, buy our cars and homes on loans and in general try to save for old age. However, I see the super expensive watches and think...mmmmwell it is very well made, it is very exact, it is a great product...etc. But why are watches like Patek Phillipe so darn expensive. I wonder if you take away the price of the materials, is the rest of the price based on the fact that Nobel Prize winners assembled them?

Analyzing what you have on you posts...."There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else. We are a nation, not a hodge-podge of foreign nationalities. We are a people and not a polyglot boarding house." -- Theodore Roosevelt
And on a watch manufacturing country note...I was thinking of my 4th grade, when in Geography we were starting to study Europe.... and we touched upon Switzerland.... you know, in that very small country, there are four basic languages spoken and at that time the people in Switzerland (Helvetic Confederation [Abbr. CH])were hyphenated Swiss. So we have Swiss-German, Swiss-French, Swiss-Italian and Swiss-Romansh, now... what about Swiss-Cheese???

Then yesterday we had two earthquakes here. One in the afternoon and another about 11PM. We have a lot of older Americans here and the rumor is that they were unanimously blaming San Andreas.... yep, they were all collectively saying that it was San Andreas Fault.
