The Seiko 7002-7010 I've been wanting one for quite some time but I always come across ones that are beat to hell. A local pawn shop has one in stock ,but it will need a new insert. Are the inserts an easy find for these?

Mid-size? Never even seen that before. Not that small. Not that big. I think I'll hit the pawn shop tomorrow and pick it up.

Mid-size? Never even seen that before. Ramon has these up a couple of times a week. There is also a 6309 version that looks almost the same; case wise.

Well I hit the pawn shop and bought it at $35 less than they "firmly" were asking. I guess my haggling skills are getting better with age. Its a cool piece. JDM and it was a short run from what I can tell. Its smaller than I'm used to , but wears larger than you'd think.
All in all I'm pretty happy with the new addition.

Same here. Ring too small, dial too flat, case too small and simple.

Are the inserts an easy find for these? I wish I had pawnshops around here. Just not popular even in the Albany area (it's the state's capitol, there should be some freakin' pawnshops!). I visited one in Troy, but they said they didn't ever get watches in. Usually they only got power tools and video game consoles - I'm assuming from the crack heads and meth heads Congrats on the deal anyway

I've been pretty darn lucky with some of the deals I've found at the pawn shops around here. Mostly the things I've found have been to flip , but every once in a while I find a keeper.

Did you find anywhere that sells the inserts, I'm wanting one too. I've just had ten stainless steel blanks cut, 34.3mm OD 29.3mm ID x O.5 mm. I don't know how to paint/decorate them tho. I guess I'm just gonna vinyl wrap one to see how it looks. P.s any other Seiko bezel insert won't fit. Including all other mid size 4 n 7 series.

I think that one would be the only non 150M / 200M diver that used a 7002 movement.

What is the point of the Tachy on this watch? To tell how fast you're going under water?

What is the point of the Tachy on this watch? To tell how fast you're going under water? Without a stop watch second hand how would it even work???

To tell how fast you're going under water? Without a stop watch second hand how would it even work??? Well, you gotta make sure that you start exactly when the sweep second hand hits the 12:00 marker!

It looks like we're looking at the same make and model.
I bought this a long time ago and haven't worn it for years. I was thinking of selling it and then decided I 'd send it back to SEIKO to get it cleaned up a little.
