Hi guys. I was talking to an old school friend today (via Skype,) and knowing my interest in watches, she asked me if I knew anything about this watch. The numbers on the back are: 6bb/5238290 and 1622/74 Now from what I have researched myself it's No. 1622 of a 3700 production run, from 1974. They were supplied to the RAF. It hacks. As she and her husband have both just lost their jobs, they are looking to sell it (probably on e-bay, I have no personal/financial interest, other than I have been promised a biiiiigg KISS !). So, any more info would be gratefully received as I (foolishly ?) offered to write the description if I could find out a bit more about it. It's all original, except for the strap, and is apparently keeping good time. TIA Dani

Chances are the watch may not even have to be put up on eBay; collectors there will likely be happy to pay market value :-) www.broadarrow.net/

You may also want to reach out the Chris (donciccio), he is quite familiar with Hamiltons I believe. Great looking watch, I'd love to have it.

Thats a beautiful watch. Unfortunately I can't really add anything else to the info already given. A nice vintage military piece. The website that Pete provided is your best bet for more info.

Thanks guys. I signed up at MWR and added the following info from a member in Oz:
"The Hamilton Geneve 6bb/5238290 was only issued in 1974 and I estimate that around 2,800 were issued"
(I have seen it stated as 3700).
"6bb indicates that it was purchased for RAF use. The watch uses a 17 Jewel Hamilton Cal 649 movement which is the basically same movement as the ETA 2750 except for the makers identification marks."
I'm waiting to hear how it's doing accuracy and power reserve wise before proceeding any further.
