>>>SOLD! Thanks WS and buyer!<<<
Howdy,
As freaking gorgeous as this watch is, I just don't wear it and I'm on a mission to acquire something else (imagine that!). Offered up for sale here is a genuinely scarce (dare I say 'rare'...?) King Seiko Special Chronometer Hi-Beat KS 5246-6060 with incredible and perfect teal dial in all-original condition. The 35mm wide steel case is unpolished with nice sharp edges and perfectly clear writing on the case back. The case and lugs have amazing lines, definitely worthy of the "Grammar of Design" ideals. The original and untouched dial is an amazing shade of teal, and is in absolutely stone cold perfect condition (please excuse the dust in the pics, see the naked dial shots!). Steel hands are perfect. Original crown signed "KS" in a font that I've not seen on any other KS model. I installed a new stem gasket just recently too. Serial number dates this beauty to February 1973. The crystal is the original Hardlex mineral glass crystal and is faceted with two angled cuts, one down each side. There are some nicks and scratches around the edges, but over all it's in pretty good shape....and it's original. The 25 jewel, hi-beat caliber 5246A automatic movement is clean as a whistle, and runs great keeping time, but service history is unknown. Movement hand winds and hacks too. This is an Officially Certified Chronometer grade movement. Has the date and Kanji day wheel, and the quickset for the day/date works perfectly. I've never seen another of these except the one (or maybe two) pictured on the Tempus Domains photo database. Here's your chance to add this rare beauty to your collection! Yes, my prose is flowery here, but damn, this watch is awesome. Sold as head only.
Price is reduced to SOLD $895 SOLD shipped in the US, $950 overseas via EMS. Paypal preferred, 'gift' or add 3% please. Refs-o-plenty if you need 'em, PM me if interested.
Cheers,
