I finally got around to painting the shroud on John Bentley's gift TST... I used a flat black, six coats followed by 6 coats of clear satin laquer. It now has a nice hard finish and should be fairly durable. Next will be new dial and hands. Haven't decided what look I want yet...

Hey Pete, what kind of material is that shroud made of? Looks good by the way...

Looks good. Reminds me I still have a pvd'd shroud laying around and I always thought it could look good on a pepsi Tuna...

Very nice, Pete, looking forward to seeing it on your wrist. Got any suggestions for the dial? I know most here don't want to see a tuna dial on it for some reason How about one of Jakes dials...

Not sure how the Soxa dial would look, but I'd like to see it. The top one would be sweet, IMO..

I have a TST from him as well, that came from one of his lotto competitions. It has a black nylon shroud. The black wjean MM strap gives it a very unique look, especially with a silver dial that really stands out.
I keep considering a green tsunami dial from Jake along with padal hands (like the early citizen divers) and stainless PVD insert from Harold.

No offense, is it the machining that looks rough or layers of spray paint?

No offense, is it the machining that looks rough or layers of spray paint? Rob No offense. This was one of John's early prototypes. I just didn't take the time to clean up the burrs and machining marks. I just wanted to see what it would look like in black. I'll probably either finish it up properly or get one of John's finished metal ones.

Here's mine as it stands. I did away with the silver dial for now, until I have suitable black hands (or paint some). I was fortunate enough to win one with a black nylon shroud. What color did yours start out?

I'm surprised you own one Peter (being a cheap ass and banned on TOF and all ) I for one will hold a grudge until you or you family is dead over money or some shit someone said. Sort of like that Billy Madison Adam Sandler movie where Steve Buscemi (I hate that guy) had a hit list. I am still owed a Cousins half sub sandwich from when we were 16 and drunk. www.cousinssubs.com/If you have a green light on you over a sub sandwich from 20 years ago just think what I will do to you if you owe me $20. The local watch master had one done and I commented on the machine marks / crudeness since he is usually a perfectionist much to my financial dislike and he said he would leave it as is to affirm the manual machining or such.

I remember he said he was too old to bother with such shit...or something along those lines. It was also the pasty faced Asian kid living in his parent's basement who did most of the banning on TOF; John is ok. As for being a cheap ass; I have to be, my family spends money faster than I could make it.
