....................yep, as you guys know I had a little bit of luck on ebay a while back.
Saw these not to great photos, put up by a guy with NO feedback & No sales & No Buying history.
So I thought what the heck, put on a fairly low bit & won.
Nice all original 6309 BOOM!!!
She arrived, I banged her on a Nato & away we went for a few days just to get acquainted.
As you can see the crystal was VERY scratched.
So, packed her up & sent her off to Cannop for him to work his Alchemy on her. I wanted originality so deside on just a new crystal, flat not domed. And a full gasket swop.
as you can see, Duncan did his usual wonderful job.
He striped her down
Found out she was a dirty, dirty girl!!
not surprising really as the guy I got it off was a removal man & wore it every day for 12 years!!
Once out the dial could be seen, LOVERY
New Window & gasket fitted, Super nice clean movement.
However the crown was a problem, but no fear, Cannop in here & he fitted another.
Then its hold your breath time...........
And, BOOM passed the pressure test. Though not an issue for most, passing this is is a Biggie for me.
So, all back together & looking good. Actually, looking very, very nice .
She arrived home yesterday, I poped the little vixen onto a z22 & wore her all day today, bang on accurate & really sweet
Passed the sharing a coffee test too, also a Biggie as I LOVE coffee
All in all a keeper I think, I have two other 6309's. One a MOD'ed one with SKX007 Dial/Hands. And the other my first ever Seiko, she has AM hands/Insert but she's been with me on some great, great dives so I love her too.
6309? Perhaps the best, most USABLE Vintage Seiko Diver?
Now, if I can just find a 6306..................................
