Had to check if it was Tuesday today! bad bad bad! anyway wearing this 6106-8020 Sealion from Apr '68 today. Just kicked it back to life with a parts-movement from Peter at speedtimerkollection. Handy guy for Seiko tinkering folk. Prices ok most of the time and had a couple of 'parts watches' that were too good to break from him! Always offers full money back so can't be all bad Love these full day watches. Came with original bracelet but too short even for my girlie wrists: So if anyone can help with spare Stelux '60s links to suit that watch.... Oi! stop laughing I can hear you! you never know! someone reading this might have a spare link or even a strap in their back pocket right at this very moment thinking what can I do with this old bracelet(link)! anyway someone please sell me a link pleaaaase!

Accurist chronograph powered by a citizen 12 jewel 36 series seikola I like the watch but hate that fox! Creeps me out every time I see him. Had nightmares about Basil Brush through most of my childhood... He'd chase me in that little suit of his around walls and such.... Of course now we know being chased by 1970s BBC presenters was the normal occurrence...

Anyone looking for a 1973 Pontiac Catalina with a flat cam (and I don't mean flat tappet)?

After running this one by the new timegrapher and re-regulating it(trial and error method does not produce good results!)... It now has a very good beat error in all positions and the rate only varies by about 7 seconds per day over all the positions.

I finally got around to pulling out the AR-coated sapphire this thing came with, and put in a correct Hardlex. What a relief.

the rate only varies by about 7 seconds per day over all the positions. That's outstanding for a 6309. How much does the rate vary with state of wind? I find that's the Achilles Heel of low-end Seiko movements. I'm guessing that can be corrected by moving the regulator curb pins closer together, but I haven't attempted that adjustment. That said, it's kind of moot, since automatics are kept pretty close to fully wound if they're worn daily. Myles

I haven't checked variation on low wind; not much point really. I always try to adjust the curb pins so that there is zero play of the hairspring coil that passes through them. If you don't do this, then the timing can vary a lot depending on position. This is one of the reasons Seiko updated the balance system on the 7s26B. With the easily adjustable curb pins and even the adjustable stud carrier; it is vastly easier to regulate and adjust the timing than if you have to squeeze or pry apart delicate pins or bend the hairspring as it exits the stud carrier.
