for some calibers the stem release lever plays hide and seek based on the crown position. try moving the crown in and out and see if anything changes on the movement. it might be subtle. I spent an hour figuring out a quartz 7c release lever.

A little lever swings out and it has a dimple in the end. Push/pull the crown into the various positions until you see it pop into view. It looks like this...

Thanks for the information. I worked on it last night and found the lever. The stem came right out. On to the next phase.

Good luck. The 3 degrees of separation story about how I got the money to buy mine is way more interesting than the watch itself. It involves a curbside repair of a Buick Riviera FWD which has to be the worst belt routing of all time with the motor mount in the middle on the farthest Northern reaches of the Northside, a back in the way way back days trying to buy some 20" Daytons in a crackhouse on the Northside from the "girlfriend" of someone who was in jail and needed money for a lawyer with someone with a butcher knife hiding behind a door (honest folks couldn't legally concealed carry back then), all tied together by a coworker who was the nephew of 1st round draft pick Shaun Alexander who was the running back for the Vikings and the Seahawks. Hopefully your original sawtooth has less drama tied to it and I limit my current watchmaking skills to changing batteries and straps but I have popped a few crowns out for mock up future mod ideas.

That definitely is an interesting and danger filled back story to that watch... I don't think mine will ever look as nice as that one. Now that it's apart I'm going to do my best to put it back together... Next step is to try and find seals and a crystal.
