Interesting comparison and another toe hold for the elusive "tropic 1-3-1" strap Showa 41 (1966) January. Showa 42 (1967) August.

Wow, where did you find those? Are they original press release illustrations? Thanks for sharing...I'm picking one of these up (from 1965) in about a month. Cheers!

Very similar to the strap I use on my 1966 62MAS. I prefer it on the 62 than a Will Jeans waffle for instance.
Cool find.

I think that blue one is a reproduction - the hole pattern is incorrect, the keepers are fused, and the end isn't rounded. Here's my 62Mas on a vintage 1-3-1 Swiss Tropic-branded strap. Apologies fro the blurry shot.

Apologies fro the blurry shot. I knew someone would add positively to this conundrum, thanks for the photo this helps greatly. Do you know if the strap has a number/code, I'm still learning about tropic straps and the differences. Rod

That's wonderful, it great to see that Tropic made 19mm straps, when 18 and 20mm were the norm. I'll add some more information to this thread so it can be used as a reference. Does anyone have a great small crown 6217-800x that can be included in this thread?
