I don't normally do this but I am curious to see what the wider world thinks. I am wanting to put my Yellow-Fin TST mod to bed. I just received a pair of oversized custom crowns from Tiger (one is for my other TST) and I am deciding what to do about a hand set. This started as a bone stock SKXA35 a few years ago. I had it case blasted, put in black day/date, changed out hand set with Orange Knight. Then changed out sweep with SKX007 but had the white portion painted red. Then pulled the dial, rehaute and hands and dropped them into a 6309-7049 built from parts. Then replaced hands with Orange Sumo. Then moved it all into a TST (sacrificed a -7290 case, I would never waste a -704x on a case mod like a TST). Then installed Yobokies Albacore hands. I like the Albacore hands but it's back to the same issue from when this was a new SKXA35, contrast is nil so legibility under most lighting sucks. I still feel anything other than black hands on a yellow dial should be illegal. I'm also not in love overall with the hand shape against rectangular dial markers. They really are much better balanced against round dial markers. So feel free to answer the poll, provide comments, tell me to sod off. It's all good. SKX with red sweep: SKX with black sweep: SUMO: Albacore:

Geez Spencer, seeing as you're the one who is going to be doing the work I may not have any choice.

Have you ever considered putting a set of black snowflake hands on those? That's what I'd do on an A35 or 173 dial.
Next vote goes to black SKX hands, black sweep...

I have seen that but for whatever reason the look does not grab me on a Seiko dial. I have however scratched that itch with a -0040 mod (would still like a vintage blue dial Tudor but don't have $4K to blow on one...). Don't know if this is a grail or a fantasy. Don't ever see a time when I would have that type of money for a single watch. Still, it is the type of thing that tempts me to liquidate almost all of them to try and get one.

We have the exact same fantasy or grail as you would put it. To me that's the 'one true' Submariner... ...and this is how I scratched that itch. Still, I wonder how the real one would make me feel...
