Saw this one for the first time. I'm a sucker for a shrouded diver, I like the idea of the colored hands corresponding with the different functions. Maybe just a tad busy. Hmmm. kind of on the fence with this one.

I like it except for the lugs and the size and the PR button.
A lot of the recent Pulsar Kinetics no longer have the PR button.

I have the SUN019, doesn't look as busy as the 023 and dare I say it has stopped my longing for a Tuna.

If only they weren't Kinetic....
That being said, I really like the 019 like C4L18R3 posted..... And may just have to own one someday.

Too big for me. BFK is about my limit and that's pushing it on hot days of summer.
But what is encouraging is the construction and finishing looks fabulous. Hopefully there will be similar quality models on the horizon. We are long overdue for some new serious divers.

I don't mind the look, but I have no faith in Seiko's kinetic technology.

Would be VERY cool if it were an auto but a Kinetic is just not for me.

I don't mind the look, but I have no faith in Seiko's kinetic technology. what do you need to be confident in the technology? its been on the market since 1988. the movement seems robust and reliable. battery cells easily replaced.

Too big, and I wish they made the black one with a bracelet. Other than that, I kinda dig it!

Another great looking Shrouded Diver. This one is a real beauty, well at least I think so. Black with gold. Seiko SRP231K

I think people don't like having to worry about keeping the battery charged. But there is a simple solution; just convert it to regular batteries then there is no worry. You will know that you don't have to do anything for up to three years and then it's an easy and inexpensive change for another three years

Looks great but does that Shroud get into the wrist ? I mean those sharp edges ? _________________________________________________
Mine also my ..... SKA371 it always has to be used constantly and it is (Brand New too). But my older ...... SKA369 it goes for days on end and keeps better power reserve time than the .... SKA371. But the SKA369 needs a Bracelet and new Black Insert for it. What a struggle to find them. I have the Watch Lug Main links, but not the rest yet. So it is on a Strap for now.

Re: the SUN GMT diver... the shroud isn't uncomfortable at all. I have the SUN019 and it is big compared to most but the truth is it only looks like that on internet wrist shots. Granted that it sits tall on the wrist at 15mm thick but the watch itself doesn't seem disproportionate on my 6.5inch wrist thanks to the the short lugs and the curved shape of the shroud. The lugs don't protrude at all and the watch itself is sits quite well because of the curved shape of the case that seems to wrap around the wrist. Having said that, I do have it on an Isofrane strap now. If there is one thing 'nasty' about this watch, it's the diver's extension clasp/piece or whatever you call it. Depending on your wrist shape it can really 'bite' into you leaving a nasty irritating mark at the end of the day. You will constantly need to adjust the watch to give your wrist a breather from this sharp part of the bracelet. They say 'inverting' the bracelet solves this problem but I haven't tried it, plus I think that would mean closing the clasp in an unnatural/awkward manner.

I somehow have 3 of these now, two of the black/white (SUN019) and one of the yellow/blue (SUN021), although I may have the numbers swapped. I bought an extra of the black/white to steal the bracelet and put it on the blue/yellow as I'm not a fan of the strap, and generally prefer bracelets. I've got the two different models each on the bracelet now, and as observed elsewhere, despite the size and height of this thing, my smallish wrist likes it, I think because of the lug design.
Other things that have surprised me is the finish of the case, the radial (?) pattern is quite attractive when caught in the right light, without being overly showy/obvious day-to-day.
Kinetic - like others here, I'm historically not a fan of the Kinetics, mainly because I own to many damn watches, and stuff doesn't get to the top of the rotation often enough, which means I'm periodically ticked it's run down. The most recent one I got second hand though came with a braun toothbrush induction charger, so this morning I started trying to charge a near-dead one. I understand the charging isn't always the easiest with the toothbrush chargers, I guess I'll have to share experiences once I see how it goes. I used to have a pair of BFK's that just didn't spin my propellor enough to keep them given the maintenance requirements (charging) of a Kinetic, I'm so far of the mind these will be keepers.
