That one, definitely looks like it's got a story. With any luck, we'll get to see some "after" pics!

Interesting job in store there. Last genuine bezel insert sold for $800 a few years back. Some guy in England organized a run of genuine looking inserts in association with Noah Fuller a while back, but haven't heard anything of him for a while. No dials are available and all attempts to reburbish or recreate are rubbish. Hands and movement are readily available from other models. There is nothing special about the 6217 movement and it is available readily in other models. This model watch is quite rare and would be worth much more if there were more about to create more interest in them. They wear much better than most later divers as they are a bit smaller and look less of a tool watch. In the early days of the old scwf, most members thought they were a myth and very few had seen them. Cheers Phil

WOW . . . that's pretty strong! The dial may not be that bad under the crystal but it does look like there are some markers that are degraded.

Because the link will eventually be reomved, here are a few photos provided by the seller. Perhaps you can play a little Helen Reddy "That Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady" while perusing the photos: The case back looks great, but this poor thing certainly took a beating on the bezel insert, dial, and hands! I would love to see a well-cared restoration of this - it would be like night and day. Dan
