Nice, but way too rich for me.

things that bug me: - round-topped markers
- four lines of text on the lower dial
- It's not a 6159 1:1 reissue

Yep...just another of Seiko's lame LE cash grabs. Not much better than that one that showed up in Thailand a few months back

I dig it but it will be way to much for me since it is a limited edition of 1000 made. The MM was one of my all time favorite watches I have owned and I would have kept it if I could have afford to but times were tough and I had to sell it.

"Automatic" should be under the "SEIKO", or omitted entirely. That way the bottom dial text would be more balanced. The indices should be absolutely flat-topped with knife-sharp edges. The rest of it I like for the most part.

Yep...just another of Seiko's lame LE cash grabs. Not much better than that one that showed up in Thailand a few months back I hear you, but I think it's far more tastefully done than their other scrounge-around-the-spare-parts-bin "limited editions". I'm with Spencer. If they did a 1:1 reissue of the 6159-7000, I'd be all over it (funds permitting). Myles

It is a nice looking watch, but after I read this and looked back, the 4 lines of text would bug me too... And it seems a bit pricey.

I think it looks great and much better than the standard MM300. I doubt I'll be able to afford one when they are released though and I definitely won't be able to afford one s/h if the SBDX003 prices are anything to go by. "Automatic" should be under the "SEIKO", or omitted entirely. That way the bottom dial text would be more balanced. The indices should be absolutely flat-topped with knife-sharp edges. The rest of it I like for the most part. I agree with this but then you could say the same thing about the standard version and it hasn't stopped people from buying them. The 003 has the better dial layout but for some reason it had the standard silver bezel which I couldn't understand. Maybe Seiko are saving the 012 bezel and 003 dial combo for the 60th anniversary model...

They're nice watches, and if I had 1% money I'd buy another one. It's just my gripes about this particular model. What I'd really wish is that they'd take the 40th anniversary reissue and just make that the standard model.
