It's a 6139-7060 5Sports Speed-Timer from July, 1975. I lusted after one of these for about ten years. Every one I found (and you don't find many) was either roached out or was way too expensive. I actually wound up getting this one from an unlikely source. Every now and then, I check Craigslist for Seikos. Normally, I only check Seattle, but one day I decided to check Portland because I live right between the two. Last year I saw an ad for some vintage Seikos...nice ones...and this was amongst them. I called immediately, and discovered that the watch was being sold by a former SCF'er! Some of you old timers might remember his handle: Dan and Penny. We got to bullshitting about the old forum, and I wound up going down to Portland to pick up the watch in person for what I thought was a reasonable (but not cheap) price. After an "interesting" visit, I came home with my prize. The watch was in beautiful shape, but looked like it might have had some light case work done to it. Our friend from Brazil listed a NOS 6139-7060 case on Ebay a week or so ago, and I was all over it. So here she is! I couldn't be happier with it. This green dial REALLY pops. Her she is with some of her roomates!

Nice watch. I trust everyone kept their clothes on... Lol...yep. But we both like hand guns, and one of his, uh... malfunctioned while he was showing it to me. That's all I can say.

I don't even want to think about it. Every time I read something a hand gun AD there is always an obvious and preventable approach to keeping it from happening in the first place. Bottom line, too many gun owners have malfunctioning safeties (ie: their brains). I'm so paranoid about safe handling that there are some people I know that will I not be in the same room with and a loaded gun unless I am the one holding it.

He kept the gun in a safe for self-defense, and had actually warned me about the janky safety on this old gun while it was still in there. But I was intrigued by it, and asked to see it anyway. It went off while he was trying to clear it. However, due to his safe handling of a somewhat dangerous weapon the only casualty was an old cabinet door down near the floor. Shit happens....

Nice pickup! and nice to hear you met Dan and Penny in Oregon  He's a good guy, and we had a good time talking to each other. I actually stayed way longer than I was intending to. He has LOTS of nice Seikos, including one of these I couldn't talk him out of.

He said he got rid of a lot of his collection before I was able to peruse it, and sent watches all over the world.

I was just contacted by a guy who has one of those. It was his dad's, and he just was given it, and he wears it as a daily on some other strap because he doesn't like the bracelet.

I cannot disagree, that is a fantastic looking chrono! She's got some mighty fine looking roomies, as well.

Dan is certainly a character. We used to e-mail each other regularly, then he dropped off the forums. Shortly after that he sent me back a watch I had given him; no note or explanation just the watch. I haven't heard from him since. He was prone to imagining grievances or slights from other people so something I said or did obviously triggered that. I used to enjoy his Halloween bowl of treats; it was full of his most colourful Seikos

My search could be aided, perhaps, if someone were to find me a bracelet for my 7A28-703A.
