Yes - a nice one there, especially with original(?) box!
But, I'm not sure "NOS" - I don't think that is all original case texture, looks to me like a nice refinishing, but I could be wrong.
You can see my Early JDM Big/Small Eye (that's what you have there) in some other threads there, likely in the unusual chronograph one & compare.

Nice Jimmy, but don't you already have one of those? It looks just like some of your other watches?!? Actually, it looks like it came out of a time machine ! Really classy and lots of visual interest with the nifty orange bits on the sub-dials. I am glad your ship finally came in! Now you can enjoy some liberty with your new acquaintance! - Thomas

Yes - a nice one there, especially with original(?) box! But, I'm not sure "NOS" - I don't think that is all original case texture, looks to me like a nice refinishing, but I could be wrong. ... OK, I was searching for photos that could be good reference shots of the "correct" case texture from various angles. I didn't come across any "known good NOS" examples, but I did find this link of a used one with likely original texture. I have some shots of my own, but probably too small to get good close-up references of the texture from the sides & other angles. www.network54.com/Forum/78440/thread/1177096081/A+veteran+6138-0019+is+resuscitated++---%26gt%3BOne shot there that may be of use in evaluating this one for proper case geometry on the sides & edges: My own collection shots may not be sufficient to do the job, example: That is the side shot of this: which generally seems an unmolested (not buffed) "New JDM" {Speedtimer w/o "5 SPORTS"} example. Another of mine (lightly used & seemingly unmolested) from back, again small pic: not sure if that can help at all. My nice "Old JDM" again: Remember that bracelet links are replacement (buckle original). So, whoever has good eyes (better than mine, anyway LOL!!) can try to see if the one just in (jim1963) looks to be original factory texture.

Beautiful watch, and straight from Japan no less. But she sure wasn't cheap, was she! You get what you pay for with these watches, and I say :winner:! Wear the hell out of it!

It's looking great Jim. Like i told you, I'm a sucker for these speedtimers. If the diver bug hadn't grabbed me, I would have been a chrono freak.
Wear it well mate.

As I had mentioned Jim, That is a Beauty but I also had reservations about the case finish being original. I have also seen and refinished original cases that differ from yours with different case lines on the side as shown by Ninja01. This case below is one I refinished for a customer and as you can see the ends and a small ridge down the sides is polished. I also have other examples of my own with this same style case. That is what I had drawn my conclusions on about a possible refinish on your watch until I decided to check my old laptop which has an archive of photos of nos cases. After checking my file on the 6138-0011 I noticed that your case matches the nos case I had on file which doesn't appear to have polished ends and a polished ridge down the sides. Now I have come to the conclusion the there is more then one original case style and yours is NOS. As I said before, You Lucky Dog....... Nos Sample case: The OEM finish on these varies from watch to watch, and from year to year. Sometimes the case is lightly brushed from the factory and the "ridges" on the sides are clearly visible. But other times these cases are heavily brushed from the factory, and the ridges disappear. It always made me wonder if these were finished by human hands on some kind of machine?

Is that from that eb*y seller in brazil? I have doubts about his claims.
