So adjusting back to day shift woke up about 3AM this morning, could not get back to sleep so what to do? How about my favorite I'm bored pass time Craigslist ads. Here is what I found 45 minutes from the house.

Yes, my Wife is going to pick it up Monday afternoon. It is not working. It looks pretty good with what might be original strap. May just be a battery.

You have to be freakin' kidding me! Give it up....how much? You know how people describe what they payed as lunch money cheap, well I would describe what I paid as a monster and a bag of peanuts.

I have found 8 awesome Seiko's on craigslist ads. I travel a lot for work so I'm always watching the ads in the areas I'm traveling or working in.

I was thinking about this watch in the wee hours since I was awake anyway. The :20 minute marker is darkened. This is right over the battery. I think we're looking at a battery leak. But since I know how much you paid, who f'ing cares.

But since I know how much you paid, who f'ing cares. Battery leak sounds bad. Can the dial be restored. It also makes me wonder what condition the movement will be in. They can be a wide range of "bad" in terms of what's happened. I've seen unaffected movements, I've seen entire movements destroyed. A 7123 I got in once had a leak so bad it had eaten part of the date-wheel. I've seen others that just spread some acid crystals through, and it was easily cleaned up. The last Arnie I saw in that had suffered a battery leak had a dial much worse than yours, with the :20 marker gone along with the dial paint underneath it. The :15 & :25 markers were black. That movement was alive, amazingly. Filled with acid crystals and staining, but it was alive. I have not had a lot of luck cleaning up these markers, but you never know. Again, with what you paid, DO NOT WORRY. Anything is possible, and you've got so much to work with. But we need to get that battery out of there, ASAP.

The Arnie is now home, safe and sound. It's booking a trip to the spa in FT. Collins Colorado.

I seem to remember Rene had an Arnie, and it too had one discolored marker.

I seem to remember Rene had an Arnie, and it too had one discolored marker. I did indeed and it had the dis-colored marker exactly in the same place! There however was NO battery damage! I was practically giving that watch away with absolutely no bites so I ended up selling it on Craigs list!
