I may or may not have brought up the subject before but I often wonder what happened to all the Yema Seaspiders? I recall at the time when they first came out it was a matter of loving them or hating them and the majority seemed to hate them. Funny thing is that they flew off the shelves as fast as anything and Amazon sold out in a flash. I was lucky enough to get one of the first Silver dialed ones (the Auto version) but very stupidly sold it soon afterwards. Luckily enough I was able to find and buy one of the Black dialed Quartz versions and love mine! So I wonder where they all are as rarely if ever do you see either version for sale! Here is mine.....

I don't have a Sea Spider, but I do own a modern Yema that I never wear. My wife bought it for me in Paris, and I wouldn't feel right putting it on the market. It's got a Miyota 8215 inside, if memory serves. It's a big watch.

I'm not a big fan of the bezel, too blingy for me. But I do like the dial/hands, I think.

When Seiko was part owner or associated with Yema, the automatic SeaSpider had a Seiko 4s1x movement in it. because of the exclusivity of that movement, people simply hang on to them. Since we rarely see anyone wearing them in WRUW threads, it's a safe bet they are all safe queens and likely forgotten.

I'm not a fan of the rotating ring or the compass rehaut. I'm boring like that.

I had the blue dialed sea spider.
I was 1 day and 2 hours late to the party after the amazon seller was outed and all of the black dials were gone.
I recon he bought a storage locker full of them and threw them up on amazon for $100 looking to make a buck or 2 on a Friday and when he logged in on Monday and saw 500 watches sold he had no idea what had just happened.
I liked it but the twin crown idea with compass was dumb and the bezel insert wasn't the best design and the 4S15 movement wouldn't fit any other Seiko cases for a MOD at the time and the silly fangs or spider legs on the first link of the bracelet was silly (that's an awful lot of negatives if you ask me) so I sold it for slightly more than I paid for it after wearing it for a while.

No Spiders for me, but I do have a Yema. I need to sell it!
