You're right that the Bulova 218 is the same as the movement in this Hisonic, so parts are fully interchangeable. In fact Citizen made these movements under a licence agreement with Bulova - the movements are marked accordingly: These are very nice watches imho, and were expensive pieces in their day. And the smooth sweep of the second hand is cool: Stephen

I meant does it eat through batteries, my understanding is that the batteries need replacement every year but have yet to see one in person
