Hey Guys,
I mentioned earlier I have a good success rate fixing these guys. I've done approximately 40 previously and get about an 85% success rate.
What I do isn't too secretive, I basically bond the 4 point wheel to the gear. It's crude but it works and you can use the quickset as normal, except between 9pm to 9am.
For forum members, I can do these $10 a piece. At that price I'll need just the rocker itself, as it takes a while to get the thing out of the movement. They are tested on a test rig made from an old movement before sending back.
So if you guys have got some you need done, it's easier for me to do them as a batch, as there is a little bit of setup involved with the job and then testing after.
Anyone in?

You could sell a kit for $10 each perhaps. Save yourself the labor, spread the repair, maximize your money. I wonder if you could design a replacement rocker, 3D printed, in two halves that snap together. Boom, instant fix.

I did consider it, but it's mainly the labour component which is the value and the hard part in it. I'm working on getting a higher resolution 3D printer at present which will be able to make the rocker. That's 3-6 months off. Until then the best fix is still to bond it to the gear. Even then, you need to stake these things apart. I tried using some bodge home made tools to do it and ended up killing the part. You could sell a kit for $10 each perhaps. Good point. I'll do up a guide over the next few days. I've got one I need to do now and that's the perfect opportunity. I have the movement in a movement container, if you want me to remove the rocker can u provide some direction ?
