Hello,
This is a Seiko 6309-7049 diver from June, 1977 in very good condition. It was sent to International Watch Works (IWW) for a makeover and has been relumed very nicely and installed with a sapphire crystal. The diver also has been pressure tested and all the seals checked. I bought a it few months ago and wore a couple of times. I've found it to be exactly as per the seller's original ad described it. It's a nice watch but it isn't making it into my rotation. This is a watch head and springbar sale only. I'm asking $325 SOLD OBRO or trade. As far as trades go I'm interested in thinner dress type manual wind or auto. Newer Bulova II series, or other Seikos or perhaps Hamilton. I like 36-38MM watches so please nothing larger than a 40MM. Tank or Tonneau type watch would be nice. Please PM me with any questions. I work 3rd shift so my response time will be later in the evenings. I have tons of feedback on "watchuseek forum" and on eBay with the username dr_billiards.
Best regards,
Scott

Up for sale this week is a Seiko 6309-7049 diver in very good condition, about 85% cosmetically. From the serial number, this watch was manufactured in June, 1977. I bought it in 2011 from a trusted member of an online watch forum and he had sent the watch to International Watch Works/Jack Alexyon for a spa treatment. IWW relumed the dial and bezel dot and fitted the watch with a flat sapphire crystal. They also checked or replaced the seals and pressure tested the diver.
Please review the following details about the watch so you know exactly what you are getting:
I believe all parts to this diver are original (the person I bought it from would have told me otherwise). This is not a "Franken-Seiko."
The case has some definite wear and tear from use and age. There are some small dings and scratches. But I would consider these as part of the watch's wabi which gives it its character. Please see the close-up photos of the watch to see its exact condition.
Mechanically it's running fine, about 30 seconds fast per day by my cursory timing for the past few days.
The lume has a nice warm color and glows evenly in the dark. (See the last photo below of the lume.)
The bezel is all original and rotates smoothly in both directions. I lubricated the o-ring under the bezel with some lithium grease so it should be good for a while.
The crown screws down tightly with 3-1/2 turns.
As mentioned above, the crystal is sapphire and has no scratches.
The diver has an English-Spanish (ES) day wheel.
This is an excellent 6309 diver for a collector or someone who's looking for a solid and reliable 6309 as a daily wearer. I would have kept this except I have a couple of beat-up old 6309's that I've been wearing for years and those are good enough for me.
