Looking into this one, what do you think the value is. Bracelet not original, but supposedly a decent runner.

I'll give you twenty bucks. LOL. I'd expect it to sell for around $95 - $140 on the 'bay. At least that's the range I'm familiar with. I have 2 or 3 of them, like those blue dials! D.

It's an early piece, with a Chinese daywheel most likely. Proof-marked, looks like the sweep has been replaced, probably during service. Case looks awesome. On eBay I'd bet in the 125-150 range, if serviced and photographed properly, I could sell that watch in the easy mid-200s, conservatively.

As mentioned....$100 - $125 range as she sits. They're awesome watches, I've owned and stupidly sold at least 4 of them.....The blue dial is fantastic, but it's one of those models that I love looking at but not wearing.

The smaller 60xx cases lend themselves to customization as well... Here's a 6309 diver bezel conversion I did a few years back.....kind of a Rally Chrono look

I love the way they look, but the lack of bracelet options drives me nuts and they just never look right on straps. IMO. So, like Shawn I've owned Lord knows how many but they never get worn, ever, and then they're sold.

Just an observation...have you noticed the 6138\9s are in 'vogue' now??? The 6105s and many 6309s are outpricing themselves, reaching over $600 easily! Diver watches are still trendy, but the vintage chronos seem to be in many posts. I better grab one, huh! hahah! I don't usually see them in used stores in my area. Usually they are online.

My 6139-6015 never got any wrist time till I popped a rally bracelet on it, now it's one of my favorite wearers I have to say I was always a rubber strap diver guy, and the chronos were almost on the chopping block, till I got the right bracelets, 6139-6005 got a Swedefreak treatment East Tech H-link and also found a permanent spot in my watch box.

and the 7Axx series are still popular to have... Are there any of those with normal lugs besides for the pricey military ones?

Great looking watch and you can't beat a 6139.

I have a gold dialled 6012 that doesn't get much wrist time. A black rally bezel would really spruce it up. What bezel did you use, and how did you do it? A separate how to thread would be fantastic. Edit: sorry, re reading I see you said its a 6309. How does it attach? Just using the existing bezel like the 6309 uses the crystal retaining ring? Snaps straight on?

So I acquired the watch in the OP, you can read about it HERE. What does the original bracelet look like, and what is the possibility of finding one?

They're awesome watches, .The blue dial is fantastic, but it's one of those models that I love looking at but not wearing. This is exactly my dilemma. I happen to have one with the original bracelet (addressing Spencer's excellent point) but even that doesn't seem to be enough of an incentive to actually wear it. I have a feeling mine will wind up on the chopping block sooner rather than later.

I believe this is the original bracelet and honestly I haven not seen these come up very often. That's what I was afraid of, and I'm somewhat of a stickler for original bracelets. I probably won't wear it, if I can't find one. It'll more than likely, be moving on at some point...Shame too, because it's running spot on.

Yes, vinylgreek has has found the original bracelet. The majority that I've seen for sale over the past couple of years are missing the bracelets and I understand that they break easily - leading to most being dumped in the past.
They don't sit very well on a standard leather strap because of the curved case and alternative seiko curved end links also don't generally sit well because they're not high enough.
Mine is on an h-link bracelet with curved end links, but the end links sit very low compared to the height of the lugs. Sorry, I can't seem to work out how to link photobucket pics, so no photos at this stage.
