Paid well under $100 for this in a craigslist find. Everything seems to be working. Bracelet seems to be original Seiko but god knows what its from. Owner claimed it was cleaned 9 years ago and the bracelet was replaced because the original had broken (details were hazy). Everything seems original, and the chrono feature works although the buttons are a little stick. Outer bezel is a bit rough, and of there's a small crack in the crystal near the 130 mark. Score! Sticky pushers are an easy fix if everything is otherwise working properly.

You did good! With a little work you can go from this: To this: Wow.. That's an amazing transformation. How hard are those inner bezels to find not faded out? I now have two 6139s that need some serious TLC. One is a franken-pogue and this guy here. It's g hard to imagine how you can get it looking so new

Don't worry about the faded bezel, it adds character. You'll find one sooner or later, just enjoy it in the meantime. Do you have a proper bracelet for it? Unfortunately, I think Shawn is all sold out of the H Links.

Unfortunately, I think Shawn is all sold out of the H Links. No proper bracelets for either of my 6139's. Not sure how hard they are to find, but it would be cool to get an oyster and fishbone, so my collection would have both examples. I've spoken to Seikoholic about servicing one of the watches, but I may just do both at the same time. I'm not sure, as a complete novice, I'd feel comfortable even attempting minor restoration work on these watches.

Unfortunately, I think Shawn is all sold out of the H Links. Personally I hate faded bezels. The watches look 100% better with a pure black bezel and a nice non faded outer bezel. Nice result for $100. Resist dial watches seem to be fetching more money each time one is listed on evilBay. I'd say you should be able to pick up a nice genuine bracelet for it but I think I've brought the last 20 that were listed on evilBay! Enjoy, T

I agree, and was in now saying it should never be replaced...Just that the OP should enjoy wearing it, until he finds a suitable replacement.

Maybe you can give me some tips on how to shop for genuine ones Or at least what prices are fair My golden rule is if it is less than £50GBP think about buying it and if it is £30GBP buy it. So when 15 Pogue bracelets were offered to me the other week I brought them. Simple as that. Key factor is if you try the tight wad approach you'll be waiting a long time for a bracelet. I've even brought complete watches just for the bracelet before. T
