Hey Guys, I just got my NOS Arnie (even had the blue plastic on the case back) and much to my disamy there is a crack in the shroud...
So I saw the thread "A definitive solution for the Seiko H558", a great post I might add but I didnt see in the thread a place to purchase or get ahold of the producer of the "MARK III" shroud. ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN PICK ONE OF THESE UP. Thanks in advance for any help.

I not sure where those shrouds are available, but I'm sure someone will chime in with an assist. Strange that an NOS piece, would have a cracked shroud...Got some pics? For reference, I believe THIS is the thread you're referring to?

No affiliation with the seller, but has anyone tried THESE?

No affiliation with the seller, but has anyone tried THESE?Now, those are really reasonable priced. Aren't the ones mentioned in the referenced thread, like $200-$300? Granted, they are a different material...but that's a hefty price for a shroud IMO.

Got to wonder what a arnie shroud would sell for. good luck on your hunt for a shroud.

The material used to make them is really odd, and fickle. I've seen originals that are as pliant and easy to work with as anything. I've had near NOS examples come in with the shroud shattered like glass. My best Arnie, best I've ever personally seen, was like this. The shroud was not only incredibly broken, it kept breaking into smaller and smaller pieces, shattering down with the slightest flex. Incredibly brittle. I replaced it with one of the $55 plastic replacements available on eBay that Aaron linked up above. The seller lacked tact and should have had better customer service skills, and the first piece I got had some quality control issues, but after a bit of wrangling I got a better one out of him and it's been fine since.

Yes Wayne is the Man for these for these Arnie's. I'm always in contact with him. He had some other things coming about very soon also from what he has told me. His Shrouds are very nice too and now they have come out with a new coating he told me and better then the regular stuff. Wayne is a great Gentleman and is a good business man also.
