That is the question! Awhile ago I purchased this dial from one of very own well known members and had every intention of using it because it's in immaculate condition and has the nice bright RED lettering but I changed my mind............. the reason for that is because altho the indices are a nice crisp clean bright white they dont glow but for a very few seconds after being exposed to the light and the 6309 I was going to use it on the hands DO glow and I figured it would look silly if they didnt all glow the same.. Should I have it re-lumed to match the hands or just use it as is knowing the lumes wont match? TIA

Buy one of the better AM dials and relume that to match the hands. As soon as you touch that OEM dial; it can never be restored to original nor it's value.

Buy one of the better AM dials Any experience with mount_apo's dial? That's the only one I can find that's readily available...any other AM options? I'm building a "beater" 6309 to use on beach days and I don't want to use my original.

I'm building a "beater" 6309 to use on beach days and I don't want to use my original. Try Ramon(thewatchcollector). I have one of his; it came on a basket case 6309-7290. It is average as AM 7040 dials go with the bright green lume but it can be 'aged' to make it look older ;-) This one... came on a Ramon special and I'm pretty sure it's AM but it has markers that are whitish like the OEM ones and they glow a little bit. No idea who made it but it looks pretty close to OEM.
