G'day. I was wearing my older style black monster a few months ago and was approached to sell it. Named a price and off it went, so I jumped on the bay and got one of the new ones with NH36 movement in it. The watch duly arrived nicely packaged in a Seiko box and after a quick look I tossed it in the Seiko wheelbarrow until today. I had a good look today and first of all noticed Made in Japan on the dial and better overall quality than the older ones. Better crown and better alignment of the lumed indices. I have mine on the correct bracelet but notice that the rubber straps specific to the model.
I like the hand winding capability as I do change watches frequently and tend to stick with ones I can hand wind. There has been very little feedback on this board as to the members experience with this movement. What are your experiences? Cheers Phil

Cheers Phil I have a watch with the 4R37 movement which is the same as your Monster's movement (the 4R36) except it has a 24 hour subdial. In my experience it feels nicer than the 7S26 and mine keeps good time, but I can't really say much beyond that. I actually like the way that the new monsters look better than the way that the old ones look but that's just me.

I have several watches with both movements and I could not really feel any difference between the two other then one can hack and hand wind. I read of issued with one or the other but personally have not had any with either one. I had several of the earlier Seiko Monsters and liked them but I am done with them for the time being.
It would be nice if you could post some pics. What are the specifics on the better quality you mention? Just curious.

A few screen snips from the bay: I love Monsters. It always drives me up the wall when I see a completed listing selling a Monster anywhere from $49 - $99. Arrrrrrghhhhh! Dan
