Picked one of these up from a WIS in pursuit of a grail. Originally my plan with these new models was to get a SUN021, and then get a bracelet off a SUN019 and put it on the 021. This 019 came along, so I figured I'd grab it, remove the bracelet and flip it. Well, that plan went out the window after I wore it for a day. Observations: 1) This thing is big, not that anyone should be surprised by that. I think it measures out at 47.5 w/o the crown, and yeah, it wears that large. I don't have the biggest wrists, but my feeling by the end of the day is that I won't be buying a bigger watch as this is at th elimit of what my chicken wrists can handle. 2) The lume on this black & white version is gorgeous. It has the warmth of a well aged lume, so it isn't white really, it's more of a creamy color, and I really like it. 3) The bracelet that caused me to want to buy this to move it to the SUN021 is very comfortable. 4) the 'depth' of this things dial is a little captivating. I always liked this aspect of the BFK, so maybe it's something of a signature for Seiko in their kinetics, but I'm liking it in this application. Overall, a watch I think folks will like when they lay hands on it. Yup, it's large, but worth a look/handle.

Thank you for your thoughts, a few more pics would be nice. I like this model and the other black one too, but recently I have been more interested in smaller and lighter watches which incidentally are also more affordable. But that does not mean I can't admire this one, it's great looking.

Is this the model, that has the cut outs on the sides of the case?

I like it but it is way too big.
I wish Seiko would put that movement and dial in a more conventional style case.

I think 2-3 mm smaller and this thing would sell like hotcakes, but despite my normal dislike of large watches. it's working for me. I'm sure the real test will be how much wrist time it gets 2-3 months from now, after the newness and allure of the dial/lume combo wear off.

I thought it was a really good looking watch from the first time I saw it. But then I found out it was truly MASSIVE...with my 6.5" meathooks, I think it's a no-go. I learned that lesson with the EcoZilla. That is a lot of steel to have banging around on my wrist. Truth be told, I don't wear my Sumo much because of it's size.

It is a nice looking watch and I could probably get away with it given my 8" tree limbs. Kinetic turns me off (as it would sit around for long periods given my regular rotation) and the GMT is not a complication I find useful in my life.
